Village Goldsmith My goodness how some things have changed; Some for the good, and some not so good. I guess it’s all a matter of prospective.

The Village Goldsmith is a full-service jeweler which provides handcrafted custom jewelry, expert repair, jewelry appraisals as well as watch repairs and batteries. Our story began June 14, 1994 in what was sleepy Clermont, Florida; Population 6,500, hence the name, “The Village Goldsmith”, because Clermont was still a village. The Village Goldsmith has had to initiate many changes along the way

to stay in step and in touch with the community and market trends. On the other hand, some things never change, such is the case of the two mission statements of “The Village Goldsmith”. Mission Statement #1: “We came here to make a living, not a killing, and if the community would see fit to support us, we in turn would do all we could to help support the community”. Mission Statement #2: “Quality never costs more; it always pays”. We feel like we have lived up to our side of things, and the South Lake community has done the same. Here we are twenty-eight years later, still under the same old oak tree, and with the help and guidance of our two faithful, loyal and trusted co-workers, Matt Jewell – {who brings thirty years’ experience as a Master Goldsmith and Gemologist), and Monica Barger – (who brings twenty years’ experience as Office Manager, counter sales, computer and marketing expert), we are here to help you with all of your jewelry needs. Whether it be repair of your existing jewelry treasures, or to purchase, re-design, or create a new treasure. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the South Lake Community for awarding us the prestigious honor of “Best Local Jeweler” for an unprecedented five consecutive years. Celebrating Our 26th Year Anniversary here in South Lake County Wow! It hardly seems possible that it has been twenty years since we (Jim and Betty Johnson) chose to share our dream in this Gem of the Hills community with you. We opened The Village Goldsmith June 14, 1994 at 630 W. Hwy 50 in Clermont, and have been in the same location, with the same phone number (352.394.4429), with the same owners, and the same dedication to quality workmanship partnered with customer service. While the consistency you have come to trust has been our watchword, we are looking ahead to making small upgrades to keep pace with South Lake County’s ever changing population growth and financial community; watch for them. We have no interest or intention of becoming a box-store wannabe, so you may be assured that our personalized way of conducting business will never change. Our repair work meticulously worked by experienced goldsmiths, Jose and Jim will remain first class with ultimate attention to detail. Our custom designs will always keep pace with the latest styles inspired by you, the true imaginative designer. Your desire for one-of-a-kind pieces will continue to be respected with no duplication for any other customers. Our customer relations expert is daughter Torri, she continues enhance your experience with us by inserting her unique perspective of design and repair adjustments. Always ready with a welcoming smile,Torri can change your watch batteries, recommend a gift for your loved one or counsel your desire for of a customized designed piece. In addition it is Torri’s voice you hear letting you know that your special item is ready for pick-up. I have the responsibility of restringing your beads and pearls. Better to maintain the silken threads then lose what may be an heirloom strand of precious memories. The Village Goldsmith offers custom design, intricate repair, ready to wear individually manufactured items, clock and watch repair, battery replacement, pearl and bead maintenance. Jim has even been known to repair trumpets and eye glasses. We try to do it all for you. We have been rewarded for our integrity and dedication to the Clermont community with outstanding ratings from the South Lake Chamber of Commerce, the Better Business Bureau of Central Florida and the unwavering support of you, the folks who have become our family, friends, neighbors and partners.
