Pastel swirl of stitches is growing. That fishy shape has turned into a weird sort of pomegranate or some other fruit shape now. Or maybe still a fish-pufferfish maybe?

I did a thing last night😊 finally getting my mojo back and ready to start a project. Not sure what is happening with this or where it’s going but it felt good to start something new.
I am slowly unearthing my ‘toys’ aka supplies in my studio. It is so hard to try and organize. The space is smaller than my previous studio so it is taking some very creative planning to reorganize and find a place for everything. I gave away and sold quite a few supplies before moving and I still have a LOT! But my beads are all unpacked and my finished jewelry is unpacked, my fabrics are unpacked but not completely organized yet, my painting/mixed media supplies are almost unpacked but not organized and my sewing table and all the notions are still in the process of organizing.
We took care of our granddaughter all last week b/c our daughter and SIL were in Portugal for a wedding. Grammy was tired and took a few days off to get some rest 😂
But I am getting my energy back and my creative mojo is returning!!
Maybe next week I will be beading again💕

Wow! It’s May 13 and I haven’t posted since April 1. Getting unpacked and settled in our house here has taken over all my creative energy. Plus I babysit our granddaughter a few hours a couple times a week. With all the stuff that moving entails it has zapped my brain and my body😵‍💫 plus I had the flu in mid April followed by a sinus infection that slowed me down to a standstill. Packing, babysitting and doing anything creative was out on hold for almost 2 weeks.
Needless to say, I am stilllll unpacking my studio and organizing while having a pity party for myself periodically. I used to pride myself on being ably to unpack and organize a new house within 6 weeks or so. (This is house #9 since 1986-so I was used to moving and had become an expert!) Well I guess age, sickness, babysitting and having contractors traipsing through the house almost daily has slowed me down considerably.
Without tossing out more complaints about my inability to get fully unpacked I am finally sharing my stitched piece I started before we moved. The last time I shared a pic it reminded me of an abstract face so I decided to continue stitching with that in mind. I didn’t want to add too much more plus I just haven’t felt like stitching much. I stitched the final bits last week and finally ironed it while I had the iron hot from ironing curtains to hang!
So here it is & in my spare time rather than stitching or beading I have been drooling over other people’s art on IG and Pinterest. It is hopefully going to inspire me to get myself together and get my creative mojo back!!

Trying to get the rest of the boxes from January’s load unpacked before the final load arrives tomorrow. Nate is happy to be in mom’s studio. He didn’t like my studio in NC b/c it was across the yard in the detached garage and he freaked out when I would carry him over. Now we are all in the house together! And you can see baby granddaughter’s pack and play is already set up in the studio as well💕 we’re gonna have fun!

Growing and growing. I had to take a couple nights off from stitching. I ran out of the salmon pink color thread- #3712 DMC.
Apparently a popular color or they just aren’t making as much of that color?? The closest Michael’s had run out. I checked back a week later like I was told to do. Still no #3712. Next closest Michael’s had one but then it sold before I got there.
I should’ve checked the Micheal’s in Denver last week while I was there but I was so preoccupied with unpacking and then the stress of thinking I had lost my jewelry inventory.
So long story short-one of the Raleigh stores had a plentiful supply and I am back to stitching😊💕

Hallelujah.
The jewelry has been found!!!
I must have had doubts about shipping my jewelry in the first load so I withheld it and just uncovered it at the back if the mound of boxes left to be moved.
So much happened the week of the first load being packed/loaded and moved out. It was an absolute sh*tshow with the people who showed up to load everything. Incompetent doesn’t begin to describe their behavior.
I am glad I had the foresight to hold these boxes back. I only wish I had remembered!!🤪
The day after they loaded up the truck my husband had cataract surgery at the buttcrack of dawn and then I had to fly to Denver to meet the moving van. With the chaos swirling about it slipped my feeble mind that I held my inventory back from the first load. Whew!

What a relief and I feel like such a fool😝 but at least I can rest a bit easier now. I have had a full week of not sleeping well. Hopefully I can sleep tonight.
Thanks again for your kind words and offers of sending me components to create more jewelry. It was so sweet of you all.
Can’t wait for all this moving drama to be over so I can soothe myself with some beading again☺️

Focusing on some positives-
All my handmade books, art journals and sketchbooks are unpacked and not damaged. I still have a collection of sketchbooks in NC that will be moved at the end of the month.

Welp 🤬😩😭 the first phase of the move has been a disaster from start to finish. I packed about a third of my studio in November/December and it was shipped in January. I came to Denver to meet the moving van after a series of absolute screwups during the loading/moving phase. The chaos of all the boxes and half our furniture arriving that day was immense. I did not personally count the hundreds of boxes. At that point my main concern was inspecting furniture which got damaged.

So we are back in Denver to babysit and came over to the house to unpack boxes before the final phase of the move…… so far I am missing the boxes of my bead embroidered necklaces. Basically my entire inventory outside of what’s at Dare Arts in Manteo. So they ‘lost’ or stole about 16 necklaces. Various components from other artists were used. So basically quite a few one-of-a-kind pieces. Gone!

Hours upon hours of beading. The cost of materials, the cost of labor the fact that those pieces were what was going to sustain me since I will not be able to get a lot of beading done for several more months really pi**es me off that they’ve disappeared 🤬 I have contacted the moving company and am waiting to hear back.

I am sick, I am livid, my blood pressure is through the roof right now. And I am dreading the final phase of the move.

Many of the components used were Lisa Peters Art, Jenny Davies Reazor, Leslie Watt, Dorothy Supri, Sue Beads, as well as semi precious gemstone cabs and thousands of seed beads. All gone😭😭😭

Once I back home next week I can sort through my inventory files and photos to make a comprehensive list for the insurance company & moving company.
The good news-I have unpacked pretty much the rest of the studio supplies that were moved here and they all survived.
But what remains to be shipped is the other 75% of my supplies AND all my precious components/beads to make new stuff.
