Diamonds have long been prized for three extraordinary qualities: rarity, brilliance and durability. Their unmatched hardness — making them the toughest natural material on Earth — is one reason they have become the ultimate symbol of lasting love and commitment. But diamonds possess another remarkable trait that is far less familiar to jewelry lovers: they are exceptionally efficient at transferring heat. That lesser-known characteristic is helping to solve one of artificial intelligence's biggest challenges. Check out our blog for the full story... https://zablerdesign.thejewelerblog.com

For generations, engagement ring shoppers gravitated toward classic white diamonds or richly colored gemstones displaying a single, uniform hue. Today, however, a growing number of Gen Z and Millennial couples are embracing a gemstone that celebrates their colorful individuality in a completely different way: the parti sapphire. Historically, natural pearls have been found around the globe, from the Persian Gulf, Indian Ocean and Gulf of Mannar near Sri Lanka to French Polynesia, China, Japan, Australia, the rivers of Europe and even the Tennessee River basin. As we celebrate June's birthstone, let's take a closer look at the Smithsonian's Baja Pearl Butterfly, a brooch adorned with exceptionally rare natural pearls gathered over three decades from the Sea of Cortez, also known as the Gulf of California. Deep in western China, where scorching dunes stretch endlessly toward the horizon, one of the world’s most treasured gemstones quietly waits beneath river stones and desert gravel. It’s an astonishing contradiction: The finest “mutton-fat” nephrite jade — among the most prized materials in Chinese culture — comes from one of the harshest and most isolated places on Earth. When British archaeologist and Egyptologist Howard Carter first revealed the funerary mask of Tutankhamun in 1925, he was stunned by its astonishing condition. After more than 3,000 years sealed inside a tomb in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings, the youthful pharaoh’s golden visage appeared almost untouched by time. Today, the iconic artifact — displayed at the Grand Egyptian Museum in Giza — still looks remarkably radiant. And now, thanks to new research from Tulane University, scientists finally understand in far greater detail why gold can remain untarnished seemingly forever. One of the most famous gold nuggets ever discovered is heading back to the auction block for the first time in nearly two decades — and experts believe it could bring as much as $7 million. A remarkable Victorian-era jewel with royal Irish roots and a museum-worthy emerald has resurfaced at Hancocks London, offering collectors a rare glimpse into the artistry, ingenuity and grandeur of 19th-century jewelry design. Known as the Inchiquin Emerald, the historic piece centers on a richly saturated 5.67-carat Colombian emerald long associated with the O’Brien dynasty, the Barons of Inchiquin — a noble Irish family whose lineage traces directly back to Brian Boru, the legendary 11th-century High King of Ireland.
