Pearson Handcrafted Jewelry & Art Welcome to our hand-crafted mineral creations page, the results of the fun we have finding, collecting, cutting, polishing, and creating wearable rock art.

We are a Northern California rockhounding family. For many years, everywhere we went, we'd come home with pockets and bags full of rocks, storing them in bags and boxes. We have graduated to five-gallon buckets loaded with Mother Earth's treasures and a collection of lapidary equipment and silversmithing tools. Our passion for the beauty of crystals and minerals continues to expand as we learn new

Commemmorative copper oak leaves coming to a client soon. First step is detailed cutting with the jeweler's saw.

The leaves are from an oak tree on their property that holds special memories. This is the first of several creations made using templates I created from actual leaves of the tree.

I'm home from an all too short week of Silversmithing School at Camp Paradise.

Focus for the week was prong setting a faceted stone. The instructor said bring the biggest stone I had, so here she is! An emerald cut topaz in an 8-prong claw setting.

I also completed two shadow box rings - an oval with a Peanut Jasper cabochon, and a circle with a Kingman Turquoise cabochon. I'm almost finished with a bolo tie including custom cord tips; I should have photos for you tomorrow.

Daylight photo outside. Thank goodness for a cloudy day! Photography outside is ideal, but capturing images of shiny objects in the sun is painful!

I'm loving how this turned out. With the holiday weekend, I had some focused time to apply to the project and gain momentum on the fabrication process. All too often there's a large gap in time at the bench, and I forget what I was doing and challenges I was working through. Loving my new studio space!
