A beautiful pair of jade 💚 earrings recently came through the laboratory. But with jade, appearance alone doesn’t tell the whole story.

Our examination identified the material as natural jadeite jade, A-Jade, meaning we found no evidence of dyeing, bleaching, or polymer/resin impregnation 🚫.

That distinction is an important one. Jadeite is commonly treated to improve its color or transparency, and those treatments can have implications for durability, stability and value. With A-Jade, the color, texture and translucency you see are properties of the natural stone itself.

For collectors, jewelers and consumers, this is exactly where independent gemological testing matters 🔬: not simply identifying what a gemstone is, but determining what has - or has not - been done to it.

Three pear-shaped diamonds walk into a lab… and none of them agree on proportions. 💎

Which length-to-width ratio looks best to you?

1:1.25 — short and bold

Many in the trade lean toward 1:1.50–1.60, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Watch the video and cast your vote in the comments: 1.25, 1.60, or 2.10?
