A few recent turquoise projects. I picked these pieces of turquoise up from John DeLong Studios in Summerland, British Columbia. I tweaked the shapes a bit but the material is beautiful. I never get tired of the combination of silver & turquoise. Fortunately I'll be heading to Summerland in a few weeks to find more inspiring stones to work with. The ring sold this last week and I just finished the reticulated silver cuff yesterday. Always nice to have a new piece for First Thursday at Trails End Gallery Chewelah, WA.

9mm faceted Spinel with custom cut Charoite (Siberia, Russia). Charoite is a natural silicate and this beauty was cut By John De Long at his studio in Summerland, BC Canada. John's gallery is a must see if your travelling in the Canadian Okanagan area near Penticton. I've been sourcing interesting stones from John for the past 6 or 7 years. This hinged pendant is 55mm long x 20mm wide. The rivet is in 14K yellow gold and the rest is sterling silver along with an 18" 2.8mm sterling silver Cable link chain. The pendant features a pierced design on the back to see the stone. Designed & manufactured in Chewelah, WA by Tim Nielsen and currently available at Trails End Gallery. $785

Just finished my Squid cuff bracelet for Melissa Cole. In sterling silver with Moroccan agate and blue sapphire for the eyes. The request was for a cuff bracelet with a red stone and the design was up to me and influenced by Melissa's artistry & marine interests. The Orca was our thanks to Melissa for her great art and help through the years. I think good art has a narrative and this will be a fun conversation piece. The agate was cut by John DeLong of John DeLong Studios in Summerland, BC. A favorite source of mine for unusual stones and he has a great jewelry store if you're ever in the Canadian Okanagan. Thanks Melissa!
