Happy Anniversary Katie ❤️✨

We took a trip out to Rosy Mound Natural Area along Lake Michigan — something we try to do every year around our anniversary.

It’s a place that gives us time to slow down, reflect, and appreciate how far we’ve come together.

Katie and I have been together for a while now…
from going to senior prom as friends…
to 13 years of marriage…
and now three amazing kids later.

It’s been quite the journey, and I’m grateful for every step of it.

I also shared a photo of the wedding set I created for her — featuring baguettes with an asscher cut center diamond. A piece that means just as much as the moments behind it.

Now I want to hear from you…

How many years have you been married? 👇

Gemsetters… what do graduation gifts look like when you get to design your dream ring? 💎✨

We had so much fun collaborating with this young artist.

Instead of going the traditional route with a class ring, she chose to create something completely her own — a custom design that celebrates her journey and what’s ahead.

We incorporated subtle details honoring her high school, Northwest, along with the year 2026 tucked into the sides.

And the highlight of the piece…
two stones set in the colors of the college she’ll be attending, Albion College here in Michigan. 4mm lab yellow sapphire and a 4mm amethyst.

A piece that marks not just where she’s been… but where she’s going.

Now I want to hear from you…

What did you get for graduation?
Would you have liked to design your own custom piece?

And if you had a class ring…
when was the last time you actually wore it? 😄👇

Gemsetters… I got to see one of my designs again today from a few years ago 💎✨

And I have to say… this one still stands out.

We created a Celtic trinity knot flowing down the side, paired with a matching band that ties everything together.

But here’s my favorite detail…

Hidden just beneath the center diamond is a cutout of the Upper and Lower Peninsula of Michigan.

A subtle feature… but one that means everything to the person wearing it.

The ring is set in rose gold and yellow gold, and every diamond in this piece was repurposed from old rings — giving new life to something that already had history.

This is what custom design is all about…
meaning, story, and details that only you know are there.

So now I want to ask you…

What hidden feature would you add to your ring or pendant? 👇

Gemsetters… some stones tell a story all on their own 🐉✨

This cacoxenite stopped me in my tracks…
because it looks like a dragon.

So we leaned all the way into it.

We designed a setting with a dragon’s tail wrapping around the stone, creating a piece that feels bold, powerful, and completely alive.

This is what I love about custom design…
you don’t just set a stone — you build a world around it.

The movement, the detail, the way everything comes together… it had to match the energy of the stone.

What do you think of the design?
And be honest…

Do you see the hidden dragon face in the stone?*👇

Gemsetters… if you could choose your dream diamond shape, what would it be? 💎✨

Each shape has its own personality.

Some are bold and full of brilliance…
Some are soft and romantic…
Others are clean, structured, and timeless.

There’s no right answer — only what speaks to you.

Are you drawn to something classic like a round or oval?
Or do you love something a little different like a pear, marquise, or emerald cut?

Gemsetters… do diamonds of different sizes and shapes look good together? 💎✨

I don’t know… you tell me.

This is a design me and my client came up with, and I have to say… I love how dynamic and unexpected it feels. Mixing shapes and sizes creates movement, personality, and something you just don’t see every day.

It’s not your traditional look… and that’s exactly what makes it fun.

Would you wear a ring like this?
Do you want your jewelry to stand out and be noticed…
or do you prefer something more subtle and classic?

We love the opportunity to design alongside our clients and bring ideas like this to life.

Some things aren’t meant to sit in a box…
they’re meant to be worn, felt, and remembered every single day.

For this piece, I hand engraved three fingerprints…
their names in their own handwriting…
and the words “I Love You Mom.”

Not perfect lines. Not machine-made.
Real. Personal. The way love actually shows up.

Because being a mom isn’t just a role…
it’s the constant shaping of lives, moments, and memories that last far beyond today.

This is more than jewelry.
It’s a reminder of who she is to them… and who they’ll always be because of her.

If you could turn one moment into something you could wear forever… what would it be?

Happy Mothers Day Katie and all of you amazing Mom's! Gemsetters share your mother's day gifts you gave or received in the comments.

White and black chickadee
Gold finch
Bluebird

Version 2
Argentium silver with mixed metals
Rose gold red bird
Yellow gold gold finch

Both have such a different feel and personality.

Would you wear a pendant like this?
