The launch of tailor-made has felt, in many ways, like a homecoming for me.

In the early days of Moonryvr, I made all kinds of jewelry. I followed what interested me, tried ideas just to see where they went, and slowly found myself falling in love with engagement rings. There is just something so special about making a piece of jewelry to mark the beginning of a life together, knowing all that it will be there to see.

After a few years of making rings for you, I noticed something else. I kept coming back to the same designs. The ones I had drawn and redrawn, made and remade, poured over until every little proportion felt right. These were the rings that had quietly become Moonryvr.

Tailor-Made came from a desire to honor that.

The process begins with one of those designs — a ring I have already spent a long time loving and getting right — and then I search for your stone. An old mine with a funny little outline. An antique oval that is almost impossible to describe until you see it. A diamond with some small, wonderful thing about it that makes it yours.

So much of the ring has already been considered. And the most important part is still waiting to be found.

It feels like the best of both worlds to me. A design that has been lived with and loved by me, and a stone chosen only for you.

In the end, something that can only be yours.

The day you get engaged is, quite literally, just the beginning. The highs and lows - from the new house, the new job, the first baby to the quiet Saturdays and grey hairs. The lived-in house and the same furniture you’ve had for 30 years. Weddings, funerals - the one thing you’ll wear through every day and every season of your life.

In a way, an engagement ring is a quiet witness to your life and holds a little of that magic for the next wearer should you choose to pass it down.

My goal is to design pieces that feel worthy of bearing witness to your lives and that feel at home in every stage of them. A beautiful reminder of the love you chose and a timeless object that becomes, through the act of wearing it to represent that choice, an heirloom steeped in memory.
