Week 2 at Wildacres Retreat focused on Wax Carving and Casting✨ I love offering both techniques so students can explore both sides of jewelry making and get a behind the scenes glimpse of the casting process. Everyone did some lovely carvings and we even learned to set sapphires in place. So proud of these makers and their lovely pieces all made in just one week!!

Wildacres was a blast yet again so want to give you a little behind the scenes of both weeks spent teaching in the mountains of Western North Carolina. Week 1 “Metals + Jewelry” focuses on fabrication basics up to intermediate skills building students confidence at the bench and with soldering. I had 9 incredibly talented students this session and I was so thrilled with all of the work they completed in just one week. I teach this class annually so if you are interested in attending next summer keep following and I’ll let you know as soon as registration begins💕

If you are interested in spending a week in the mountains while growing your jewelry skills look no further!! I’m teaching at in Little Switzerland, NC again this summer and I would love for you to join me. Week 1 is July 12-18th “Metal + Jewelry” will focus on building your fabrication skills and stone setting and Week 2 July 19-25th “Jewelry Casting” will cover wax carving and the process of casting in bronze and sterling silver. Both classes are open to beginners, but would also be perfect for anyone looking to spend some quality time in the studio with a great group of creatives.
