Thanks to everyone who participated in our survey about plates. We have decided to try to source pre-owned Corelle dinner plates and would like to start with about 50 to see how they are received.
Would you please keep your eye out for round Corelle Plates if you frequent thrift shops or among your buy nothing groups? Any design will do. Thanks!

We are excited to add this option to our check-outs!

We at Get Together Green love providing this free service to help our community keep single-use plastic out of the landfill! 🌎

But WE NEED a few more VOLUNTEERS to keep our program going! There are just two of us taking orders, setting up kits, and washing returned kits each week. It's fun and rewarding, but we could use some backup for the times we aren't available or need to work on other creation care projects. 🤟

Can you spare a couple of mornings a month to help keep our silverware lending library running? We work on Wednesday mornings and would love to have your help! 💚

We are almost halfway through Plastic Free July, and we hope you have tried at least one action to reduce your consumption of single-use plastics. Day 11's challenge: Plastic-Free Celebrations.
Choosing reusable utensils instead of single-use ones might feel daunting if you're hosting a big party. Together Green helps fill this void in Cary by lending cutlery, along with tablecloths and buckets for collecting food scraps. The volunteer team that created this program can also share their lessons learned if you want to replicate their efforts in your corner of Wake County! County Government First Cary

Are pill bottles recyclable in Wake County? Is a question we're asked often. The translucent orange, blue, and green, bottles on the right are NOT recyclable. The plastic is too thin and brittle. However, the white, opaque medicine bottle on the left is recyclable.

Did you catch First Cary's Gracious Harvest Community Garden in this month’s copy of Midtown Magazine?

It’s a great feature of some local community gardens including our sister garden at Saint Francis United Methodist Church!
Our friends at Toward Zero Waste also get a mention on the page!

We love seeing how our community comes together to care for creation!
