The Tucson Gem Show. It's been one of my favorite shows for many years. Everyone who knows me is aware that I have played with, designed, sold and in general LOVED colored gemstones for my entire life as a jeweler and designer. I actually worked with them for years before getting into diamonds too. This show is where I am actively looking for requests from clients while looking for "the One" (or several) exceptional gems to end up in one of my creations for you. I have the largest collection of fine and unique gems in the state if you want to spend some time looking too. I'm heading there this week for a while looking for what triggers me that I can share with you. In the meantime take a look at this opal (one of my favorite gemstones) and you will understand some of what I get to look at and get excited about for my clients. The incredible.

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house..... Wait, that's tomorrow night. Tonight is the last night before Christmas Eve, when the last moments are ticking away for you last minute shoppers. You always hear about yellow (canary) and brown (chocolate) diamonds along with white diamonds. But what about Cinnamon, Cognac, Coffee and Champagne, along with Browns that have hints of orange or Yellow? The range of these beauties is amazing and beautiful. To showcase these, I did a custom MSA ring design combining some of the different fancy diamond colors, set in an oxidized sterling top on an 18k yellow gold ring that evokes something found in ancient Egypt. I've been designing and making jewelry for over 55 years now and love watching people's reaction to how it is created. I go from a pretty lengthy discussion about what resonates with my clients to seeing how they react to different things. Basically it goes from a thought process, to design, then usually a wax ex*****on of the design, and then into production. My work is NOT Cad Cam.
