The reason I love making Jewelry...

Marijane,
I was driving home from "Kid carpool land", my hand was resting on the steering wheel and the sun glinted off my ring, and my heart did that little "pitter patter" thing. I've had the ring long enough, that it is not quite the constant glittery distraction that it was in the first few days, but I can't get over it ( not sure I ever will)! When Brian gave it to me, I just fell into tears, it's SO stunning. Your craftsmanship and artistry speak to your love and passion for what you do. It truly was made for me and I feel that specialness, almost a physical warmth, every time I put it on. So, Thank you not just for your expertise in your field, but also for being so wonderfully in love with what you do that it spills out into your creations. I am so glad you were part of this whole crazy thing!

Boulder Opal found only in Queensland Australia is easily identifiable because of the mixture of Ironstone and Opal in the matrix or layered.

This triangle shaped Opal from the Yowah field displays veins of color in spectacular patterns compared to other Opal fields..

This other interesting type of Opal is Wood Replacement Fossil. The Opal has replaced a cavity left over by old wood. It creates a stone with a unique wood pattern... They are AMAZING !!

On a recent trip to Sedona... Marijane of course found a gem store to root around in. She fell in love with these two pieces of Morenci Turquoise. They are now set and ready for your Summer Outfit. One is set in 18k Yellow Gold and one in Sterling Silver.
Morenci Turquoise is mined in southeastern Arizona near Globe. Morenci has an unusual matrix of irregular black pyrite that, when polished, often looks like silver. Morenci Turquoise is now very rare because the mine is depleted and it has become very collectible.

Color changing Garnet.

Color change is a rare occurrence and is highly desired for it's ability to change color depending on the type of light source with which it is viewed. This stone was mined in the Umba Valley in Tanzania and is .58 cts with .16 cts diamond accents.
