I'm kind of a deadline-driven guy. I've had the course and supplies for over a year, but last weekend was my new boss' daughter's Bat Mitzvah, so I finally had a deadline to meet! I ended up using some sterling stock that I had on hand with some texture already on it, which I put to the inside of the band.
It took me some time to get the right design, thankfully, my daughter is a whiz with Photoshop and helped. I experimented with a couple designs, including one that is reversed and I hope to use it as a rolling mill texture plate.
The version that I finally used was actually white text and black background, and I used the yellow transfer paper.
Next time, I plan to use a lower temperature setting on the iron when I do the transfer, I had to take some time to work the paper off.
I call the design a "Shema Bracelet" the Hebrew is a verse from Deuteronomy 6: 4-5 "Hear O' Israel..."

Thanks to my friends in the Jewelry Makers Guild who inspired me to get back in the shop. Here's a belt buckle that I cobbled together just for fun. Along with some of the progress photos. It includes three types of metal and the moon is a "tri-phase" moon. I was planning to use some ostrich shell as a full moon but made a switch in the middle. I might try putting a patina on it, who knows?

Sorry to be so absent lately. Too much of my "real job." My friend Craig has challenged me to put a piece in for the Del Mar Fair. Mulling over some options, the leader is a variation of a Celtic Torc. I'll post some pics as I go.

Here's an example of a custom made bracelet created for my Stephanie with the names of her beautiful kids (my grandkids). The technique includes stamping, etching, and forging (forming) with attention paid to the antiquing process of the patina. Yes, I can make these on request!

Created by etching or transfer, these bracelets contain the Hebrew passage often known as "Shema Yisrael" from Deut 4:5-6, most also contain in English a portion of Leviticus 19:18 as reference by Jesus as the Great Command in Matthew 24: 34-40
