Lorinczi Jewelry

Lorinczi Jewelry Lorinczi Jewelry is a boutique studio specializing in unique designer jewelry for a cosmopolitan clientele.

I hand-make each piece here in San Francisco with a rigorous commitment to quality, combining superior craftsmanship with a sophisticated aesthetic. Whether exploring the beauty of shells, thorns, or other natural motifs, I create bridal and one-of-a-kind commissions as well as precious/ semi-precious collections that merge my fascination with the natural world with an urbane eclecticism. The scul

ptural possibilities of the metal take precedence over the flash of gemstones, which are used sparingly as accents. Organic motifs are refined and finessed: the result is jewelry that infuses and elevates the natural with drama and sophistication.

Her parents wanted something simple and timeless for their daughter—a birthstone on a delicate sterling silver chain. So I made her a custom birthstone bracelet, then chose the one detail that would make it unmistakably hers: her initial, engraved by hand into a small silver tag. Simple never meant plain.

Divorce ring redesign: she kept the diamond but not the ring. We made “disengagement jewelry.”

This is the first reel I’m sharing about a commission—a client who came to me after her marriage ended with an engagement ring she no longer wanted to wear as a ring. The diamond meant something to her. The form it was set in didn’t.

So we started over. Same stone. New piece. A custom necklace built to carry the diamond into the next chapter of her life.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing the full transformation—the stone being removed, the new chain being built, the finished piece, and the conversation around what to do with an engagement ring after divorce when selling isn’t the right answer.

Disengagement jewelry. Same diamond. New story.

Your heirloom jewelry may be lovely, but if you don’t wear it... it deserves better.

She had her mother’s diamonds for years—an Art Deco pendant, an antique ring, pieces she loved but never wore. Together we redesigned them into something she wears every day.

Same diamonds. New heirloom redesign. Finally worn.

This is what I do—taking heirloom jewelry sitting in drawers and redesigning it into pieces that get worn every day.

If you have heirloom jewelry sitting in a drawer, this could be your story too.

Once a drawer full of diamonds. Now an heirloom jewelry redesign.

She came to me with her mother’s diamonds, untouched for years. Together we transformed them into something she would actually wear. Weeks of designing, fabricating, filing, soldering, setting, brushing, and one custom-made chain later, here it is.

107 of her mother’s heirloom diamonds. Finally worn.

This is the heart of what I do—taking heirlooms that sit in drawers and giving them new life in pieces that get worn every day.

Every heirloom jewelry redesign ends with a question: polished or brushed finish?

For her piece, brushed was the only answer. Polished metal would have competed with the sparkle of 107 of her mother’s heirloom diamonds. Brushed lets them be the focal point.

She chose brushed. Her mother’s diamonds do the shining.

Don’t put a stock chain on an heirloom redesign. She wanted custom—so did the chain.

When you spend weeks transforming heirloom diamonds into a one-of-a-kind necklace, the chain has to match the work. Every link formed by hand. Every detail made for this piece alone.

A custom heirloom redesign deserves a custom chain.

One heirloom redesign. 4 chains. All wrong.

When you spend weeks transforming heirloom diamonds into a one-of-a-kind necklace, the chain matters as much as the pendant. None of the options I tried did this piece justice.

So I started sketching. Custom heirloom jewelry deserves a chain made for it alone.

I always give options when I design custom engagement rings. But I can’t lie—I always have a favorite.

Every commission starts with sketches. Multiple directions. Different stones, settings, silhouettes. I want her—or him—to choose what feels like them, not what feels like me.

But there’s always one I’m secretly rooting for. The design I’d make if it were mine.

And when she picks that one? Pure joy. The kind I can’t hide on camera.

This is what working with a custom engagement ring designer actually feels like. Not a transaction. A collaboration where your taste leads and mine quietly nods along.

“Will it really look like what we sketched?” she asked. The answer was simple: better.

When you’re working with 107 of her mother’s heirloom diamonds, every placement matters. Every angle. Every position. Each one chosen for how it would catch light when worn.

This is what a heirloom jewelry redesign looks like at the bench—the patience, the precision, and the moment when sketches become something her mother’s diamonds finally get to live in.

“Make me a showstopper,” she said. “Think disco.”

The piece started as raw castings—rough, unfinished, nothing like the necklace I’d promised her. Hours of filing. Hours of sanding. Hours of shaping metal that wouldn’t cooperate.

This is the part no one made a course about. The part Instagram skips. The part where you find out whether you actually want to be a jeweler or just thought you did.

23 years in, and I’m still finding out.

But this is how her mother’s heirloom diamonds get a new home. Slowly. Stubbornly. One filed edge at a time.
