Every Christmas I watch “It’s a Wonderful Life”. And every year when Clarence the angel is introduced as Angel 2nd class...the clockmaker...I think WOW. A clockmaker! After nearly 50 years of being in the time business I always love that line. But this year, for the first time, I wondered where would Clarence have been born and what kind of clock would he have made in the mid 17th century? He must have been born in England. England was the clockmaking center of the world in the 17th century. As for the type of clock....my guess the lantern clock....the popular clock of the day.

During this challenging year it is time to light up your life. And we have the perfect wall clock for you.
In fact, we like this clock so much we each bought one for our own homes. In daylight it looks like a regular clock. But as the room darkens the dial gradually lights up. It really is a fantastic clock and less than one hundred dollars. We still have several in stock for anyone that needs a little light in their life.

Watch and Clock Repair

Once Upon a Tyme was founded in 1991 by Jay and Susan Foreman. Jay was a foremost watchmaker and clockmaker, and considered a master by all who knew him. His dedication and contributions to the field of horology were numerous. Prior to opening Once Upon a Tyme they owned a business in Los Angeles, House of Clocks, that represented numerous watch factories from around the world. Upon opening Once Upon a Tyme Jay took on an apprentice, Phillip Ehorn. Although Jay passed away in 2011 his legacy continues through the gifted talent of Phillip.
