Water safety starts before you get in the water. 🛟

Utah’s Life Jacket Loaner Station Program makes it easier for families, boaters, paddlers, anglers, and recreators to access life jackets while enjoying Utah’s lakes and reservoirs.

In Box Elder County, the life jacket loaner station is located at Willard Bay State Park

Before you head out:
✔️ Make sure everyone has a properly fitted life jacket
✔️ Wear it while boating, paddling, kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing, or playing near shore
✔️ Borrow a life jacket if needed
✔️ Return it when you’re done so someone else can use it

Utah law requires one life jacket per person on board. Children under 13 must wear one while on the water.

Don’t just bring it. Wear it.

🕵️‍♀️🌿 Wetland Detectives Summer Camp is coming to Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge! 🌿🕵️‍♂️

Calling all young explorers ages 10–14! Join Refuge education from June 22–26 from 10 AM–2 PM for a FREE 5 day camp with hands-on exploration, outdoor adventures, and science activities as campers and staff uncover the secrets of the wetlands together.

Campers will investigate tracks, water, wildlife, and more while learning how wetlands work and why they are so important. On the final day, detectives will put their new skills to the test to solve a big wetland mystery using everything they have learned throughout the week!

Memorial Day Weekend Adventure Update ☀️🇺🇸

Great news, Box Elder County!

Willard Peak Road is officially OPEN! That means there’s now only one remaining seasonal road closure in Box Elder County, with Rocky Dugway expected to open in the coming weeks. 🚙🏔️🌲

It’s the perfect time to get outside and enjoy everything our beautiful county has to offer — from scenic drives and camping to hiking and off-road adventures.

As you travel this weekend, help keep everyone safe by:
✅ Buckling up
✅ Following posted speed limits
✅ Keeping your eyes on the road
✅ Putting the phone down
✅ Staying calm behind the wheel
✅ Choosing a sober ride

If you’re heading off-road or into areas without cell service, make sure someone knows where you’re going and when you plan to return. A simple check-in can make all the difference.

Box Elder County Fair season is almost here!

Join us for the Star Spangled Love-A-Fair Kick-Off Dance on Saturday, May 9, at 7:30 p.m. at the Bandstand at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds.

Enjoy live music by Rough Stock, lemonade, root beer floats, and a fun night under early summer skies, where sunsets turn to gold and the stars come out.

Branding boards from the 100th Year Celebration will also be on display.

Admission is free. Tag us in your photos and follow along all year at Box Elder County Fairgrounds
