Elnaz Sharifpour is a promising up and coming artist, with much to offer through her unique line of jewelry. Originally from Tehran, Iran, Elnaz received her BA in Interdisciplinary Computing and the Arts from the University of California San Diego in 2008. She began her career in graphic design for the next two
years, yet lacking self-fulfillment in that field she started her studies in 2011 at the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco. Armed with a Jewelry Technician Diploma, she has since then followed her fervent passion for designing jewelry. Her visually striking designs and distinctive style is best portrayed in her new line ‘Elle Naz’, launched in 2013. Her work can be found at Lava 9, a jewelry & accessories boutique, considered as having one of the most eclectic collections in Hayes Valley (San Francisco). What sets her apart from her contemporaries is her nonstop urge for perfection in simplicity, derived from morphing Art Deco principles with eastern forms. Elnaz hopes to achieve what most jewelers with backgrounds similar to hers have forgotten; the idea of “less is more”, a principle followed by masters such as, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier, Alvar Aalto, and Charlotte Perriand.
