Introducing our April Employee of the Month, Kari Vorwerk!
Kari has always preferred the scenic route and that philosophy led her all the way to Columbus, Montana. A California native, she and her husband Jeff were traveling along I-90 on a cross-country road trip casually looking at property when Jeff decided to buy 20 acres in this little town they’d never been to before. Their first 13 months in Stillwater County were spent living in a travel rig with their dog Spatch, surviving their first Montana winter-an adventure Kari now looks back on with great fondness.
Before embracing life in Big Sky Country, Kari spent much of her time in the ocean as an avid outrigger canoe racer, long distance swimmer and triathlete, finding her greatest joy in the open water. These days, she’s traded waves for wide-open spaces and enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, crafting, road-tripping, and keeping up with their new puppy.
Kari began her journey at Montana Silversmiths 5 years ago in Jewelry Packaging while also supporting Quality Control. Her energy, warmth, and natural ability to connect with others quickly stood out, leading her to transition into Customer Service. She has since become a key member of the outbound sales team, building strong relationships with dealers across the country. Kari plays an essential role in managing the McLane account, coordinating their annual diamond-inlaid buckle orders, and is known for greeting every caller with a friendly, helpful voice.
Kari has a natural gift for striking up meaningful conversations-an increasingly rare skill in a world dominated by screens. She’s passionate about bringing back genuine, face-to-face human connection, valuing interactions that go beyond texts, emails, and devices. Whether in the workplace or beyond, she places a strong emphasis on building authentic, high-quality relationships.
Looking ahead, Kari is excited to continue developing their property into a place filled with all the animals and blooming gardens that she could ever want. She also dreams of becoming a published author one day. Until then, she finds joy in life’s simple pleasures such as weekend adventures, a great shopping trip, and walks with her husband and dog.
