As a vintage pattern seller, I check every single pattern for completeness before I list it on Etsy. Frequently, a piece is missing, and the pattern is therefore unsellable. I mark them and put them back in the collection. But sometimes I also find patterns that are completely wadded up and crammed in an envelope, in which case I iron them flat, refill them to the best of my ability, and then re-archive them.
