27 years ago today I opened my store, this is the picture that they published in the Chieftain. My two sons and my parents were with me that day, seems like yesterday. ❤️

This picture is from my grand opening 25 years ago, on January 2, 1998. I honestly can't believe I have been here this long, the time has flown by. I've had the honor of meeting so many lovely people here and getting to know some of you on a personal level. I have been able to laugh with you, cry with you, and celebrate your milestones. I just want to thank everyone for supporting my store, and for, at times, just stopping in for a visit. While I'm not hoping to be here another 25 years, I do hope that the remainder of my time at my shop is just as enjoyable as these past years. Thank you for letting me be your jeweler, I really do appreciate it!

I am going to put this out here because I try VERY HARD to make ALL of my customers happy.

A customer went on Google today and posted the following:

I took my wedding ring set because where they fixed it last time it came apart! The lady took it in the back came back up front and it was worse than when I brought it in, told me it wasn't worth fixing! All it needed was to weld it back together which they did before! And, excuse me that ring means the world to me! It's the ring my husband put on my finger twenty nine years ago acted like I was trash! Never will I go there again! She was very rude!

This is not even close to what happened. She has accused me of doing something that I didn’t do and of being rude. He wedding set was 35 years old and extremely worn, I had worked on it 6+ years ago and it wasn’t broke in the spot where previously repaired. I told her that I needed to go look at the ring at my bench because the lighting is better and I wanted to give her the correct estimate. When I looked at it under 10x magnification I saw a huge crack running down the middle of the mounting. I went out and showed it to her. I told her that I couldn’t guarantee my work, but I would do what she wanted. I NEVER said the mounting wasn’t worth it. I told her it would cost a lot and I WOULDN’T guarantee my work. BUT, I would do whatever made her happy and repeated no guarantees. She said that she would just buy a new set at Walmart. I apologized about the issues with the ring but it was just really worn.

I will never understand people that accuse a business of damaging an item or stating something that was never said. I have had my store for almost 25 years and have been in this business for almost 50 years. I don’t think I would have lasted this long if I purposely damaged customers jewelry. Now this review will be online for many years to come just because she didn’t like what she heard.

I am a very small business, it’s been a struggle these past several months to even keep the doors open. I take these reviews to heart and it tears me up to see that someone posted an untruth like this.

So, we sold our house and along with it my fishing pond. I’ve been fishing at a few other places but none compare to my old farm pond. I decided to make myself a necklace in honor of all the lunkers that I left behind. 🐟 🎣 🐠

When designing a ring, I think color helps to give definition to a mounting. This customer was easy to work with, she ended up with a beautiful ring. 💕
