The desert plant and silver jewelry have aspects that are both delicate and intricate, yet simultaneously resilient and strong. The plumes of this plant are made of wispy silk-like strands. These beauties have got spiny oyster & Royston Ribbon turquoise stones stacked on top of each other. They’re all sterling silver post earrings. And I just think they’re very beautiful. Hope you do too! They’ll be coming in my fall collection release on Saturday September 26 at 11am MST.

I just finished up these pendants yesterday. 😍 I used a thick wire to create the bails for each pendant (the bail is the little loop that your chain/cord runs through). I’ve got some dreamy rolls of recycled silk sari that I’m thinking should go with these pendants. You can wear it long, wrap it a few times like a little scarf, or wear it snug like a choker. And if you’re not feeling the silk, I made the bail loops big enough that you should be able to string your own chain through as long as the clasp isn’t too hefty.

What do y’all think?! Silk, chain, neither, nor?!?

I’ve gotten started on September’s small batch & I’m already very in love with that I’ve made so far. I melted down scrap metal to make these tiny pendants. I hammered them each flat & shaped a bale to solder onto each one. The light blue gemstones are Montana sapphires, the dark blue is London blue topaz, & the yellow is spessarite garnet. Two come with a warm gold-filled chain & the other two a cool sterling silver chain.

I’m excited to share the other things I’ve been working on with you in the coming weeks! In the meantime, mark your calendars for Saturday September 26th at 11am mst for the release of my next collection. 🍁

Earrings! I have 2 of these pairs left & here with me today at 36th Street Event Center for the last day of sagebrush markets • bringing together art + community. And I have lots of other beautiful silver, brass, & turquoise jewels too. And beads! I made a handful of beaded necklaces using beads from our local bead store, some vintage beads I’ve found online, & from my old tackle box beading stash. With all sterling silver findings! I need to snap more photos to share with you. But it’s been a really sweet thing to bead & chat alongside my daughter Mimi the past few weeks.

Anywho, hoops! Come get some today. Or stay tuned in the next couple weeks when I list some of my market left overs + my new autumn collection I’ve been working on.

Also, if you wonder where/how I photograph my jewelry - it’s basically me just rambling around my backyard, into my kids’ mud kitchen, & down our alleyway - squatting in the dirt, pushing pieces of jewelry around, & snapping photos of a million different angles.

Thank you for your support of this last weekly release of mine. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about doing a release every week in August & I wasn’t quite sure how much I would sell. But in gearing up for the market this weekend, I knew I wouldn’t have the time to work on an entire collection to release this month. And I also knew I had to bring in at least some income because selling at markets can be tough & unpredictable.

But you lovely folks showed up for me & you’ve emptied my metaphorical website shop shelves almost every week. I’ve got just one pair of earrings left! So thank you very, very much. For purchasing my work, for being here, for the kind messages & comments. It’s absolutely wild to think that I have some customers that have been along with me on this ride from day one when I was first sharing that I was going to give silversmithing a shot. That I was going to try to make this into a business. Some folks that have stuck with me through pregnancy & postpartum & the very slow months of trying to keep this tiny business alive while being a stay at home mom with no childcare. Which I would never recommend to anyone because that took a hell of a toll on me, but I’ll save that for another day.

I’m feeling emotional & grateful. And really lucky. I don’t have the most lucrative job & I don’t have the greatest job security. But I am very happy & I love what I do. And that’s helping me show up for my most important role - as a mom - in a more present & healthier way than I think ever before. Thank you for shopping small & supporting me & for valuing what I make. ❤️

My last weekly release of August is coming this Thursday evening! At 6pm mst. I’ll be returning to one or two bigger releases each month come September.

I’ve got a few pairs of earrings for you coming this week. And I also wanted to share one of the most beautiful flowers that’s ever come from my garden! She’s so purdy that I thought she deserved her out glamour shots. I’ve never grown dahlias until this year. Most of them I started from seed, but this one came from some of the tubers my husband surprised me with. If you’ve never heard of a tuber, they look like a little sweet potato & they are basically a chunk of root that you plant underground. They’ve got all the water & food to get the plant growing.

This will be just my third market I’ve ever sold at & I’ve still got quite a bit more preparing to do, but I’m so so excited. I’ve found it kinda tough to do really well at markets with my offerings as a silversmith. My materials are pricey & it’s time consuming to hand fabricate a piece of silver jewelry from start to finish. But I’ve been working to make more pieces that I can offer at a more approachable price point. While still remaining absolutely beautiful & unique & special & completely handmade. Like these earrings! I’ll be bringing plenty of silver pieces & plenty of mixed metal pieces too. Ear wires are always sterling silver, my bezel wire that holds the stone in place is always fine silver, & backplates are either silver or a honey brass. And turquoise! So much turquoise. If you’re in Boise I’d love to see you at the market. Please come say hi. 😊

Three cuffs with big bright beautiful juicy turquoise stones are coming your way TONIGHT! Thursday August 20th at 6pm mst.
The top stone is Emerald Valley turquoise, middle is Royston Ribbon, & the bottom is Carico Lake. The stones were all cut & shaped by one of my favorite lapidary artists in Colorado. Did you know that many lapidary businesses are family run? Which I think is so cool. They’ve got a unique skill set that often gets passed on to the next generation. I hope that one day I’m able to share my knowledge of silversmithing with my kids. Beck told me the other day that if he doesn’t become a professional soccer player he’d like to do my job. So he could have a shed & power tools. ❤️‍🔥
