Valerie Allis Designs

Valerie Allis Designs I have a passion for sea glass. I decided to make these beautiful gems of the sea into jewelry so th I absolutely love seaglass.

I enjoy walking on the beach looking for these wonderful treasures. I have spent many hours combing beaches looking for seaglass. It gives me pleasure and a sense of peace every time I'm near the ocean. The first time I discovered a piece of seaglass, I thought it looked like a beautiful gem that had washed up onto the shore. It was then that I decided I wanted to share these "gems" with everyone.

Seaglass is discarded bottles, jars, pottery and glass products tossed into the ocean. After many years of rhythmically tumbled in the waves and sand, the sharp edges have become smooth and these beautiful treasures end up on the shore. It is getting harder to find as our society becomes more aware of environmental issues. Seaglass came from people dumping or tossing glass products into the ocean, as well as from boats and sunken ships. There is an air of mystery surrounding each piece making me wonder where it came from, how long has it been there, how old it is and what other hands have held it. These stunning treasures by the sea are irresistible and I want to share these treasures, my love of the ocean and romance of each piece of seaglass with you.
