Firefly > Just over a week ago I had the amazing honor to create a moment in time with the The Portland Symphony Orchestra at Merrill Auditorium! We performed my original work "militikwat" (it has all kinds of sounds) and world premiered my new piece DREAMLAND!!
Thank you so much to Portland Symphony and all their staff, to maestro Eckart Preu who conducted with energetic compassion and purpose, to the amazing musicians and choir singers who came in from all over (even New Mexico!) to make this moment a reality and for trusting me.
A very special thank you to orchestrator and arranger extraordinaire Ben McNaboe for collaborating with me to give these movements life in the orchestral realm! Thank you to Maine Public for inviting me on air to talk about this moment and to the Portland Press Herald for sharing the story of this performance.
Thank you to my amazing tailor and collaborator Dana Lippitt for custom creating the red fur coat just for this moment! Thank you to everyone in the community who joined us for this performance...we could feel your love and support fill this grand hall to the rafters. Thank you to the Maine Historical Society for being the catalyst that made this moment a reality!
A HUGE thank you to my wife, partner and best friend Donna Decontie Brown. Nobody believes in me more than you and your love, support and guidance is the driving force that makes me always want to do my best...and more!
YOUR CHANCE TO HEAR THIS PERFORMANCE!! This Wednesday, February 4th on Maine Public Classical from 8:00pm - 10:00pm EST the full Portland Symphony program of On the Nature of Daylight by Max Richter, Militikwat and DREAMLAND by Firefly the Hybrid and The Planets by Gustav Holst will be aired.
