We haven’t been to Ocean City since 2023, before cancer, and this time around, it hits differently. Life hits differently, too.
I’m incredibly grateful we were able to come back to one of our favorite places. The weather was perfect, the time together was even better, and we packed so much into this past week.
Cancer changed our lives forever. We are different people now. We carry things we didn’t carry before, and we appreciate things we once took for granted.
There’s grief in that. Grief for who we were and for the life we thought we’d have. But there is also so much gratitude for the life we have now.
Feeling the sand beneath my feet, listening to the waves, and having the ability and mobility to truly enjoy the ocean feels like such a gift.
This is living. And I don’t want to take a single moment of it for granted. ❤️🌊
