Spring is on its way, so it's time for more events! You'll find me at Asheville Raven & Crone this Saturday, April 20th from 1pm to 7pm! I'll have all of my handmade cards with me and a bunch of my newer paintings. If there's one you want to see in person, give me a shout and I'll make sure to bring it along!

I'm starting a new line of cards - Rune cards! I've composed a poem for each rune, which is written in full on the back of the card and a key phrase written on the front along with the hand painted/lettered rune itself. If you're looking to learn more about the runes and send someone (or yourself) a little magic in the mail, these cards are the way to do it!

I also accept commissions for card sets! Have an idea? Let's make it happen!

Handmade cards are $10 each or five cards for $40.

I get to share this weaving commission now that it's been delivered! Iris and I have been friends for almost two decades. We've walked through all of the different stages of motherhood, the trials, tribulations and joys that life continuously chucks our way and we've been each other's ride or die throughout it all. She asked me to create a weaving for her based on a rune reading I gave her several months ago, but when it came time to create the weaving, what called was for me to weave her foundation, her home. So that's exactly what I did. She moved to Hawaii not too long ago and has created an incredible foundation and home for herself and her kiddos. One of color, evolution and incredible beauty and strength. This weaving reflects that. The embroidered flowers/tree is the 'Ohi'a lehua tree, native to Hawaii and sacred to the goddess Pele. And, it turns out, sacred to Iris too. Which I didn't know before I chose it. As if I needed more evidence that I live a life in tandem with magic.

"The Balance of Magicks"

This piece started with me playing with textures and techniques on an old canvas that I didn't want to have to gesso over. And now I love it. Layers of paint... Spread, scraped, carved, brushed. Little bits of collage paper peeking and contributing to the fun textures. And in the end, a bind rune through the middle. Teiwaz, gebo and ansuz. A quite literal balance of Magicks.

This is Persephone. She came to me, quite clearly, in a dream and demanded to be brought into this plane. So here she is. Owls have long been considered messengers between this plane and everywhere else and some traditions believe they are specifically messengers of death. Persephone is the Greek goddess of death and Spring - the magic that is the bridge between life and death. I smiled for days after this dream and had so much fun creating her. I hope you love her as much as I do. 💜

I could actually make prints of this piece since it's relatively flat, so let me know if you might be interested in that. 🥰

A wee rainbow caught on the warp of the weaving commission I started a few days ago. So, so appropriate and I am just deeply grateful. For a dedicated space in which to create, for this new loom challenging me to push myself to grow and learn and the unabashed support of the magic and all who love me. The last month has been rough and full of square hits to the nuts of my ego, but allowing myself to unravel a bit in the midst of the pain and fear and then weave myself back together with art and connection feels.... Necessary. Right. So I will continue. Letting people love me. Weaving tangible and intangible alike. Softening into the process. Living and listening. 💜

My daughter got me a new, huge frame loom for Christmas. We put it together yesterday. Today, I've got the warp strung for its first weaving. I'm stoked. The fact that said weaving is a commission for a dear friend just makes it all the better. 💜

Bright Yule and Merry Winter Solstice! And a very Happy Birthday to my daddy! The rune dagaz means daybreak and it's so very appropriate for these celebrations and the ending of one year, stepping into the next. The foundation of dagaz is that you must be willing to let go of the night before you can step into the light of the new day. So use this time of darkness to incubate new ideas and create that which you may put off during the time of bright cultivations. Allow time for rest and dreaming. Breathe and be still. Listen and allow yourself to open to all that the dark has to offer. Love all around my darlings...xoxo

Sometimes when you've had a super sh*tty couple of weeks, you look outside and this blaze is waiting for you. It sure doesn't make everything better, but I can still be awe struck by this sunset and that's everything. Right here. Right now. 💜

My rune this month is dagaz and it means daybreak. As I move through this season of darkness (internally and externally), it occurs to me that it matters not the time of day, only that I be willing to let go of the dark and step into the light.
