Every year around Labor Day, I make the drive out to Grinter’s Sunflower Farm. Growing up in Kansas, it is a tradition I have enjoyed since college.

Even with the thick, humid late summer heat, there is nothing quite like looking out over rows and rows of bright, vibrant flowers all facing you as they track the morning sun. Beyond being our state flower, I love watching how much life these fields support, feeding the honeybees and passing monarchs right now before becoming seeds for the birds as fall sets in.

When we designed the solar Heartlander, we wanted to infuse a little bit of those roots into the watch itself, right down to the sunflower motif on the crown and caseback. Taking the Slate Gray back out into the morning light felt like coming full circle.

For anyone who has been waiting since our first run cleared out in February, a fresh batch landed back on the site this week, and we start packing and shipping orders this coming Tuesday.

Make sure to swipe through for a few excerpts from those quiet moments yesterday morning, including a busy honeybee and a monarch stopping by for breakfast.

Hope you have a great rest of your weekend!

A few years ago, I realized that if collectors in our region wanted to see independent watch brands in person, we usually had to travel to Chicago, Texas, or the coasts. I started the Heartland Watch Show right here in Kansas City to change that and highlight just how much watch enthusiasm we have in the Midwest.

We’re back for our 3rd annual show on Saturday, September 12th, and stepping things up at an incredible new venue: the Zhou B Art Center KC. Think massive natural window light (ideal for checking out dial textures), easy parking, and 12–14 independent watch brands under one roof.

Whether you’re right around the corner in KC or planning a weekend road trip in, come hang out, check out the watches in hand, see early prototypes, and grab a drink with fellow watch enthusiasts!

A quick pocket shot and some weekend lume to kick things off.

If you’re walking the floor at Windup Chicago today, come find me! I’m hanging out over at the Sō Labs Watch Co. booth helping out for the day.

Since I don’t have a Dryden table to run this weekend, I’m taking full advantage of the chance to just catch up with friends. If you’re around the show, come tap me on the shoulder and let’s talk watches.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

We’re packing up and heading back out to Long Beach next week for Intersect LA on July 17–18. This has easily become one of my favorite stops of the year. The event has grown year-over-year thanks to a tight-knit group of independent brand owners who have become close friends and the incredible community of enthusiasts who show up for it.

I’ll be hanging out at the table with our full current lineup, plus a small batch of inventory if you’re looking to take something home with you. You might even get a peek at the new Chrono Diver Gen 2 dials we have coming later this year.

Outside of the show, I’m secretly most excited about the early mornings. The West Coast offers some incredible birding opportunities that we just don’t get to see back home in the Midwest, so the big camera lenses are absolutely coming with me on this trip.

General admission is completely free, you just need to RSVP before the spots fill up.

Black and orange has always felt like a color combo built for speed.

When we were testing out the dark gunmetal PVD case for this batch of Chrono Divers, dropping the stark white panda dial into it completely changed the vibe. The way the orange accents pop against the dark frame actually reminds me a little bit of a sunset afterglow.

I know a blacked-out case isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you prefer a stealthier take on the classic panda layout, I think you’re going to love how this one wears.

Panda dials are an absolute classic. But when I was designing this second batch of the Chrono Diver Gen 2, I wanted to take that iconic layout and add a serious punch of energy to it.

The splash of orange on the subdials and the chrono hand give the dial a high-contrast pop that makes it super legible at a glance, but honestly, it just makes the watch incredibly fun to wear.

Batch 2 of the Chrono Diver Gen 2 is officially live.

When we launched the Gen 2 earlier this year, the plan was always to eventually bring back a few of the core favorites from our original Gen 1 lineup. We just finished getting this second batch ready, which brings three of our most requested configurations into the upgraded Gen 2 case.

I wanted to share these close-ups to highlight the specific details of the dials:

Steel Blue: We designed this dial for depth. It’s an industrial grey-blue that shifts depending on how the light hits it. If you’re looking for an understated, highly versatile daily driver, this is the one.

Panda Orange: A direct nod to the purposeful clutter of 1970s chronographs. It features a high-contrast glossy white dial with black sub-dials, accented by just enough orange to keep things legible and give it a pop of personality. We also switched to dark gunmetal finished hands and applied indices for better visibility.

PVD Panda Orange: We took that same high-contrast Panda layout and paired it with a gunmetal PVD finish, giving the watch a more tactical, tool-forward feel without going completely matte black.

These aren't pre-orders. All models are currently in stock and available for immediate shipping.
