Moving half the studio to an event is a whole production. Add in the fact that we’re moms and our kids are along for the ride, and sometimes it’s just a lot.

But...! Ending the night under that pink sky felt like a little nod that all the chaos was worth it. 💗

The world has no shortage of opinions about how women should look, dress, act and age. I’ve heard it ALL over the years. Too much. Too loud. Too old for that. Too much of a mom for this. Too whatever. Want to add to the list? I am sure you have heard it too! 😂

But I’ve never believed that being bold and being kind are opposites. You can love glitter, tattoos, loud clothes, and big bold color and still move through the world making people feel loved and accepted.

That’s why I love this quote so much:

The older I get, the more I realize smart women find ways to make life easier.

Permanent makeup isn’t about being prettier. It’s about not spending every morning trying to make two brows look related, getting your eyeliner even, or buying another lip product you’ll have to reapply by noon.

We have enough to do. If getting ready can be one less thing to think about, I’m all for it.

This is a throwback to when I traveled to Vegas to learn from the lovely Msamberred Permanent Makeup, known for creating rich, saturated black liner that truly stands the test of time.

I love learning, refining my work, and investing in becoming the very best artist I can be. I never ever want to stop getting better.

I don’t pierce tiny ears the same way I pierce adult ears.... and there’s a reason for that.

I use a needle for adults and older children. For babies and little ones, I use a hand-pressured pediatric piercing device (and no, it is not a piercing gun.) It’s operated by hand, allowing me to keep the process quick and controlled. It also uses safety backs, which I love for tiny ears.

I take my time with every child and pay close attention to how they’re doing. I don’t force children through the process. Sometimes we do both ears. Sometimes we do one and finish the other another day. And sometimes we decide today simply isn’t the day.

Being a mom and a social worker shapes the way I work: slow down, pay attention, and never make finishing the piercing more important than the child in front of me 💗
