The two layers of sterling silver can give the Hydrangea Puff Mini Stud a sense of optical illusion. At shows, people often ask what stone it is, and I get to share that it's actually two layers of sterling silver, one darkened and textured and one brushed silver. I've always been enamored with the versatility of metal and love sharing that through this design.

Handmade in my studio in Asheville, these pieces will be included in my final Online Shop Update before I pause my business to focus on graduate school.

As I step into this new chapter, I’ve decided to pause my business beginning in mid-July so I can fully focus on the opportunities, research, and growth that graduate school will bring!

My online shop will go into hibernation on June 12 (I'll be releasing a shop update on June 2!), and I’ll be participating in three more events in Asheville this summer before I move.

I’ve been selling jewelry in some capacity since I was eight years old, and this journey has taught me so much. I’m deeply grateful for the ways each of you have participated and supported me along the way, and I can’t wait to see how this next season shapes my work as an artist and maker.

I’ll still be sharing updates and new work through my newsletter while I’m in graduate school. I’d love to stay connected!

I have exciting news to share! I’m going to grad school!!!! At the end of this summer, I’m moving to Wisconsin to begin a three-year MFA program in art focusing on metalsmithing at UW–Madison . I’m looking forward to the opportunity to return to being a student and to spend dedicated time exploring new directions in my work.

I’m also feeling such gratitude for each of you; my family, friends, mentors and community whose support has made this opportunity possible! Thank you all!

As part of the MFA application process I created an updated portfolio with recent pieces and writing to accompany. Craig Dillenbeck of One Note Studio & has generously created a beautifully designed update on my website of the pieces and writing. If you are curious, please check it out here!

I'll also be sharing some customized jewelry boxes I created this month! You can read more about their inspiration below.

I love the moment a piece of jewelry is unboxed! A gift to a friend, loved one or yourself bringing joy and connection.

But what if these boxes could be part of a meaningful gift more than once?

In response to this question, I made these limited edition customized jewelry boxes with a design I created and cut out of vinyl. While the shapes are connected to the jewelry I make, I intentionally chose to not include jewelry specific branding in the design. This allows the boxes to continue presenting gifts of all kinds.

What often happens to a jewelry box you don't keep? Instead of collecting dust or ending up in the trash, could it carry a gift to a friend? Some local chocolates, miniature stationary, or a personalized magnet?

Or maybe, it's just fun to have a limited edition box! Either way, the next 10 purchases, on my website or at the studio open house, includes wrapping in one of these custom boxes!

I have been feeling the heaviness of the injustice and horrors that have been and are still wreaking havoc in the world right now. I am deeply concerned, and among personal shifts that January held, I am considering actionable ways I can show up for community small and large.

One of those shifts is taking a break from Instagram to direct my energy towards meaningful action, personal connections, and deeper creative work. I’m still figuring out what specifically that will look like, but I know for sure that taking a pause on instagram will create the space for me to figure that out.
