I’m vending the cutest little music festival this weekend and despite the rain and poor sleep, it’s been a wonderful time so far! 🎶 I’m excited for day two!

I also sold two of my Rose Gold pendants yesterday! Sometimes it takes a while for a piece to find its person, especially when it’s wrapped in Gold…but I know that these two left me in just the right moments. Feeling grateful. 💜

WSAM Spring Fest Vendor Spotlight 🌿

Today we’re shining the spotlight on Blue Lotus Design Studios ✨

Blue Lotus Design Studios was founded in Asheville in 2018 by artist and designer Jen Suess, a self-taught jewelry artisan with a background in fine art and degrees in psychology and environmental design from the University of Colorado at Boulder. After relocating to Asheville in 2013, Jen expanded her skills in jewelry making while deepening her lifelong fascination with gemstones. Her studio is now located at Resurrection Studios Collective on Broadway in downtown Asheville.

Jen creates elegant, one-of-a-kind wire-wrapped jewelry using 0.925 Sterling Silver, 0.935 Argentium Sterling, and 14k gold-filled wire. Her work includes pendants, necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and occasional rings and headpieces, all inspired by nature, yoga, and spiritual practice. Jen carefully selects each gemstone and often pairs them based on their metaphysical properties and chakra connections, creating pieces that are both beautiful and meaningful. Each design is intended to carry its own unique energy and serve as a reminder of what the wearer wishes to attract and share with the world.

I saw someone make a similar post, and realized that although most folks have probably heard that Silver prices are going up, many may not know how quick and drastic of an increase it’s been.

The cost of Silver today is up to $90.85!! That’s $19.26 MORE than it was at the beginning of this year, and $61.93 MORE than it was in January of last year!! 🤯

I began working in Sterling Silver about a decade ago, and although the prices have fluctuated and steadily gone up over time (as is expected) this recent increase is making it very difficult to be able to afford materials.

On top of this, my regular supplier is also no longer accepting scrap for recycling/repurposing (i.e. account credit.) 😭

Please understand why I’ve needed to adjust my prices. I’m doing the best I can to continue doing what I love while maintaining my high standards when it comes to quality…AND there will inevitably need to be some shifts this year…I have lots of ideas though…💡
