I am...let's just say I've been doing this for a while...a long, long while! I started crafting when I was 10-years-old when my grandmother taught me how to crochet and I learned to sew in 4-H. I enjoy all kinds of crafts, but I especially love making jewelry. There's just something special about all those sparkly beads!

Tomorrow is the last day to shop at Heart to Home Local Artisan Market. I am so very thankful to have been a vendor for the last two years and am incredibly sad to see the store close. I am excited to see what Heart to Home will be doing next, but I will miss everyone in the meantime. Thank you, Kristin Dinkins, Chris and all the Heart to Home employees, for a wonderful two years and here's to many more wonderful adventures together!

Don't forget about the Lavendar Festival tomorrow! Heart to Home Local Artisan Market will be in Booth 10, with products from several of the store's artisans (including me). Shopping at the store is fun, but getting to shop at this festival is an added bonus!

Can't believe it's the middle of July already! I took a trip to Nathrop recently and found a really great rock shop. They had some really different specimens and I picked up a few. On my way to Nathrop, I stopped in Fairplay at one of my favorite bead and rock stores and picked up some really pretty amethyst and some beautiful new seed beads. I'm so excited to take all these gems (pun intended) and create them into new tree sculptures. Stop by Heart to Home Local Artisan Market frequently to see the new pieces that come out of this fun trip.

Don't forget about the Red, White & Blue Art & Food Market tomorrow Heart to Home Local Artisan Market. This is a great chance to meet local artisans, some who have booths in the store, and others who will just be there for the day. Unfortunately, I won't be there but please go inside the store and check out my booth. I've added some new tree sculptures that I'm pretty excited about. The shadow boxes can be hung on the wall or sit on a sofa or end table.

I've been busy the last few months developing a technique for making aspen trees which are very different from the trees I usually make. I'm pretty happy with the outcome. Stop by Heart to Home Local Artisan Market to see my new Dancing Aspens collection. This shadow box is one of my latest creations. It's mixed media, 3D art and sculpture all rolled into one.

Our Story

The Gems

Samantha I think Sam was born creating things! Jewelry... greeting cards... fashion... you name it. She learned how to wire-wrap and at age 11 we put one of her wire-wrapped Swarovski’s next to her teacher’s (who had been doing it for 30 years) and we couldn’t tell them apart! She started selling her creations at craft shows when she was 11 and it was a well-paying summer job for several years. She’s 17 now and doesn’t have as much time as she used to, but she still loves to design and create. Sam has an amazing eye for color and balance.

Sydney I taught Sydney and her sisters how to crochet when she was 13. I have a great picture of the three girls all sitting up in bed, crocheting! Sydney is now 20 and a student at Regis College. She still loves to work with yarn when she has a few minutes and makes crocheted necklaces and bracelets. You'll have to see them to believe how beautiful they are.
