28 years ago today, with no experience, no sales background, & scared speechless to talk to people, I started my journey with PartyLite Candles. The first few months I did the bare minimum... other than attend convention! My leader was long distance, and I was a difficult student.
But a year later I had paid for a family trip to Disney World & replaced my corporate income. I was a “full time” candle lady for another 13 years earning trips to Aruba, The Bahamas, Hawaii, Mexico X3, a Caribbean cruise X2, & a European cruise. Then in 2010 I once again took a leap of faith & transitioned from candle lady to jewelry lady with Park Lane Jewelry! Best professional move I’ve ever made!!! In my 14 years with Park Lane I’ve earned many many more vacations: Aruba X3, Ireland X2, Costa Rico, Venice, London, Cabo X2, Barcelona, Disney, Portugal, Punta Cana, Hawaii X2 , St Thomas X3 , Zurich, Athens, Rome, St Maarten, Caribbean Cruise, Bermuda, Key West & Paris!!! I’ve also earned a couple iPads, a Mercedes, free jewelry & of course weekly paychecks that replaced my corporate job & allowed me to work from home.
I was never a natural seller, or public speaker... I still struggle with both... but my life, my family’s life is so much better because I work from home that I MAKE IT HAPPEN.
A few things you should know: there’s no expensive classes to learn this job, there’s no yearly fees or dues, there’s no long tireless hours, there’s no daily commute to the office. There IS: free training & coaching, great perks & incentives, hours you set yourself, working in your home in PJ’s or gym clothes, friendships that last a lifetime & personal growth that is priceless!
Thank you to all the coaches & leaders & mentors that have taught me, put up with me & loved me. Thank you to my husband & family for believing in me (often times when I did not believe in myself), thank you to every host, customer & team member I’ve had in the last 28 years... you all have made my business successful! Thank you to God for blessing me with an amazing adventure! Here’s to many more trips & much more success.
As I look towards the future I am honored to help more women find success in this unconventional career. To help more women travel the world, be home with their kids, pay for weddings, buy cars, homes, help charities, help families & be the best they can be! Here’s to a sparkly future.
