A little late, but we wanted to thank everyone who joined us for our Orioles/Giants game outing on April 12. We had nearly 50 friends and family members come out for a great evening at the ballpark. The Baltimore Orioles defeated the San Francisco Giants with a final score of 6-2!

A big thank you to Lynbrook of Annapolis and AZEK for sponsoring the event and helping make it happen. We appreciate the support and always enjoy opportunities to bring our chapter together outside the office.

Join fellow emerging professionals for a Collaborative Study Session focused on the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). This is a casual, supportive space to stay accountable, share resources, work through challenging topics, and learn from one another’s experiences across divisions. Whether you’re just getting started or deep into your exams, all are welcome.

Bring your study materials, questions, and insights - we’ll tackle content together, exchange tips, and build momentum toward licensure as a community.

This session will be guided by three recently licensed architects that serve on AIA Chesapeake Bay's Board of Directors: Kelly Valin, AIA, Michael Vesely, AIA, and Jacob Browning, AIA. Each has successfully navigated the ARE and brings a valuable perspective to the process. Together they will be offering insight into balancing exam prep with day-to-day project responsibilities and they’ll share practical strategies, lessons learned, and real-world advice to help you stay focused and move forward with confidence on your path to licensure.

A virtual option is available though we highly encourage in person participation!

Join AIA Chesapeake Bay on January 28th for our first program of the year!

Learn from real-world cases that shape our profession. This seminar examines more than 20 legal cases involving architects and engineers from across the country, highlighting key lessons learned and how they translate into smarter professional practice and project management. We’ll explore legal duty, responsibility, and contract administration through case studies that show how informed decisions can better protect the health, safety, and welfare of occupants of the built environment.

Presented by Paul Knupp III and Jonathan Shoemaker of Lee/Shoemaker, this essential HSW-focused program equips architects with practical insights to strengthen their practice and better serve clients and the public.
