Good morning, everyone. I have some sad news I wanted to share-- my grandfather Len Czelusniak passed away peacefully yesterday morning.
My grandfather was such an amazing person and preferred to take his place behind the scenes. I truly never knew how much he did for his June and his family. He took pride in his community and donated to organizations when/where he could.
Lenny was always June's biggest supporter and helped fuel her dreams of creating June's Hallmark. There truly wouldn't have been a June's without his support; there were not many men in the 70's who would have said "go for it", like he did.
He was always a quiet listener... but if you needed advice or had questions, he would give you the answer with much thought and consideration. He didn't waste words. He had a great sense of humor-- when you made him laugh, you knew it. His smile and laugh took over his entire face and body. I loved hearing him laugh.
He was an amazing gardener-- he was the best person to ask for advice on where and how to plant tomatoes. Unfortunately none of us have his green thumb, but we try each spring! It was a hobby he was able to do through last summer and when we saw him last, he was planning his small garden for this coming year.
Little known fact-- he was the best baker in the world. June disagreed with me but his brownies were to die for-- I think she secretly loved them too.
My whole family is going to miss him-- but he has missed my grandmother so much for the past 12 years. He asked her to marry him on Valentines Day and they'll finally be able to celebrate with each other again this year. ❤️ I'm sure she had a quick quip to say to him when he saw her again yesterday.
I really can't put into words all of the things was Len was to so many people... He was such a kind, loving, intelligent, compassionate man. I hope he's up with June, having a beer with pepper at the bottom of his ice cold glass, playing some cards and listening to some of his favorite oldies. We love you, Grandpa. ❤️ I'll be seeing you.
Visitation will be tomorrow from 9:30-10:00 at Rileys Funeral Home, with a service taken place at 10:00am. ❤️
