Sam is a New Mexico native and our most recent addition to Swaim, Carlow & Ames, P.C. She obtained both her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her Juris Doctorate degree from UNM. Sam primarily focuses on practicing estate planning, probate, property and corporate law, and has experience with mediation, civil defense litigation, and Indian law. She loves to travel, appreciates a good glass of wine, and watches trash TV and sci-fi shows in her spare time.

In 2020, Peter joined the firm as one of our associate attorneys. He graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Law where he was an editor for the Tribal Law Journal. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, camping, grilling, and hiking.  He also enjoys playing with his cat Max and connecting with close friends through video games online.
He has also volunteered for the Wills for Heroes program, an organization that provides free estate planning services for first responders.
 
 He strives to provide quality legal services for my fellow New Mexicans through this practice.

We are excited to introduce our newest partner, Joel Ames. He is a University of New Mexico Alumni, he loves going to the lake with his family, and enjoys an occasional Dallas Cowboys win.

Donald E. Swaim is a shareholder with our firm, specializing in tax law, estate planning, probate and trust law, corporate partnership and limited liability company law, commercial transactions and nonprofit matters.

Don is an avid golfer, a die-hard fan of the Eagles (musical group), and a collector of unique and rare music memorabilia and instruments and native American artwork.
