In October of 2019, United States Mint officials announced that they will be introducing new designs for the American Silver Eagles and American Gold Eagles at some point in 2021. This major change to the Mint’s two flagship coin programs — which is one of the most significant initiatives from the Mint in decades — is being timed to coincide with the 35th anniversary of the introduction of these popular coins.
The new designs will be released in July, 2021.
