Paul Boulos, owner of the Jeweller’s Shop in Ghent Square, might appear to deal in gems and metals, but more important to him are relationships and referrals. Boulos said he is more focused on forging personal relationships than on making the sale.

“It is a friendship business,” he said. Almost all of Boulos’ customers — he estimates 90 percent — are referrals.

“We have a lot of repeat business,

” he said, adding he knows most customers personally and has strong ties with them. Boulos said the business focuses on “what the customer wants, not what we want to sell,” putting the Jeweller’s Shop in a different category than big-box stores. The Jeweller’s Shop has been open for nine years and is currently located in Ghent Square at 843 N. We added 3D CAD modeling services to our 32 years in experience.
