Janie Smith cooks up a different baked treat every month or so and brings it to the VFW Post. Wednesday Feb 18th was no different as she brought in a tasty cobbler for us old Vets to enjoy. But, this time she also brought us a floor matt she had made as a very special gift!
We appreciate this sweet lady, her kindness and generosity so very much.

Adrian VFW Post 1935 just launched our next gun raffle. This is a Henry Golden Boy, .22 Mag lever action. A beautiful gun for sure. Chances are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00. We sell ONLY 300 tickets and then draw. This is a fund raiser that we split between the VFW and The LT Garrison Veteran's Memorial. We would appreciate your participation! Veteran's of Foreign Wars of Adrian Post 1935 thanks the Adrian Chamber of Commerce for letting us have a stand at the very successful fall festival Sept 20th. We gave away free coffee all day and sold several of our American made US flags along with many gun raffle tickets. It was a perfect day to enjoy the outstanding vintage and classic cars, the many vendors, and Frontier Village.

Tuesday April 29th, Kinda Williams of Adrian Schools brought her FBLA students out to the Lt Charles Garrison Veteran's Memorial for the annual work day/clean up. 38 young men and ladies cleaned everything at the memorial, podium, bricks, all the rock house inside and out, benches and statues. At noon we all enjoyed pizzas and pop supplied by the Memorial committee. They did an amazing job, everyone! From Ronnie, Denny, Tim, Howard and myself, Thank you young patriots and Kinda, you make us all so proud.
After the work was done, we traveled to the school where the student body witnessed us holding a flag retirement ceremony. The student body was so respectful as we burned 50 folded flags each properly saluted. A deceased veterans name was attached to each flag. This community is so blessed to have young people of this caliber. Don Arndt
