A little about myself, I got started making jewelry with no plan of selling anything. When shopping for new items I was not excited by what I saw. Happened to find some different and interesting beads and thought I'd try to make my own. Happy with the way they turned out, I looked for more. For me the Natural stones were the look I loved most. Added in some sheet metal work and loved them even more. Hopefully you will be impressed and enjoy the combination of Natural stones and metal too.

Beautiful Tuesday gem lovers! Most people have heard of Carnelian, but what else do you know about it. A Mohs hardness of 6.5-7 this beautiful stone is the least expensive Chalcedony (quartz). A range of yellow-orange to orangy-brown semi-opaque to translucent. The source of its color is Iron and it can be easily heat treated to darken red tones as the iron is oxidized (even by the sun's heat alone). Happy Friday! Everyone has probably heard of Tiger's Eye stone; what about Red Tiger's Eye. Natural Red Tiger's Eye is rare so most is heat treated to change the color from Brown to Red. The layers of crocidolite get replaced by silica, this is preserved in the stone, which the chatoyant 'eye' crosses the fibers at right angles. Amazing effect.
