This is Daddy’s Obit on the page of Girdner’s Funeral Home. It will run in Sundays paper. I’m taking the kids to Fandangle in Albany Saturday after the Funeral. You all are invited but I have to know now to get good seats together.

James Dorrell, 85, of Abilene Texas passed away on March 3, 2024.

Jim was born in Overton, Tx. March 31, 1938. He grew up in Troup, Texas and joined the Navy in 1956 and served aboard the USS Saratoga.

Jim is survived by his three daughters, Melissa Barker (Ron), Tammy VosWinkel (Keith), and Summer Swann.

Five grandchildren, Ashley Kitten, Amanda Waeden, Katelyn Barker, Jacob VosWinkel, Jared VosWinkel and three great grandchildren, Oscar Wilson, Noah Kitten , Emma Kitten.

There will be a brief memorial service, with US Navy honors, at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene. on June 21st at 11 a.m.

Lord, I’m crying out to You and lifting up my children. I am standing before the courts of Heaven. God, you loaned them to me and I declare and decree that NO weapon formed against them shall prosper! I cancel every assignment of the enemy that seeks to destroy them. I apply the Blood of Jesus over them… they shall live and not die and declare the works of The Lord in the land of the living! They SHALL be successful. They SHALL prosper. They WILL receive favor in abundance! I boldly anticipate and declare it done, in the Mighty Name of Jesus!!!
