Some of my most cherished early memories are of this devine cake. My Icelandic Grandmother would prepare this every Christmas and then hide it in a dark cool place for weeks. The prunes mixed with cardamom and almond extract would ferment into a flavor comparable to nothing.Spread between cake layers it's quite the effort to pull off. Well my wife has kept the tradition going throughout our marriage. I love her for this and a million other things. Thank you honey for keeping this memory alive ❤

She's a single mother whose home was lost in a brutal fire. All was taken away from her and her 4 kids. The stay at a hotel ran out resulting in them living in a tent in the sisters backyard for 4 months. They have a home for now, really not much else
