玉 — 特色介紹】
台灣墨玉來自蛇紋玉石英文名稱Serpentine Jade，屬半寶石類，名稱：閃玉‧墨玉或岫玉。 其化學組成是Mg6﹝Si4010﹞〈OH〉2，是一族層狀結構的硅酸鹽礦物的總稱。
它是由基性或超基性的火成岩，如橄欖岩、輝岩、角閃石等受風化而形成。其成份是由矽酸鹽及少量的鉻、鎳、鐵等構成的礦物，硬度約在5-6度之間。
墨玉之特色：綠色較深，有時翠綠色有芝麻大小之黑性粒狀落鐵礦，翠綠水鋁榴石，貓眼石細脈。
這一類閃玉一般含鐵落較高，呈現翠綠色，許多時候可以看到大約1至3mm黑點狀的落鐵礦。 墨玉之主要礦區從台灣東部花蓮萬榮郷西林往南延伸到卓溪郷清水溪流域，從花蓮縣壽豐、玉里、萬榮、瑞穗、卓溪到宜蘭縣南澳。
台灣國寶墨玉經國內外研究人員多年的反覆實驗，該玉富含有6.73%的活性磁鐵和二十六種人體所需要的微宏量元素：
(Fe)鐵、(F)氯、(Zn)鋅、(Cu)銅、(Sn)錫、(V)釩、(Mu)錳、(Cr)鉻、(I)碘、(Se)硒、(Mo)鉬、(Ni)鎳、(As)砷、(Co)鈷和宏量元素(O)氧、(C)碳、(H)氫、(N)氮、(Ca)鈣、(P)磷、(S)硫、(K)鉀、(Na)鈉、(Ci)氯、(Mg)鎂、(Si)矽
遠紅外線功能

The main mining area of Taiwan is black jade from Xilin, Wanli Township, Hualien, east of Taiwan, to the Qingshui River Basin of Zhuoxi Township, from Huanfeng County Shoufeng, Yuli, Wanrong, Ruisui, Zhuoxi to Nanlan of Yilan County. The reason for formation of Taiwanese jade is caused by the chemical action of olivine and pyroxene and water in ultrabasic or peridotite. In the process of serpentinization, the iron component (FeO) contained in olivine and pyroxene partially enters the serpentine crystal lattice, and the rest of the iron is easily formed into magnetite (Fe3O4), which is scattered around or inside the serpentine. The ore that is commonly known as the "Jade" serpentine and the magnetite known as the "magnet" is a unique color and contains 6.73% of active magnets and twenty-six trace elements. Rich in trace elements needed by the human body to promote the balance of elements and prolong life.
