ข้าพเจ้าทั้งหลายสำนึกในพระมหากรุณาธิคุณเป็นล้นพ้นอันหาที่สุดมิได้ที่ได้มีโอกาสถวายงานผลิตสร้อยพระศอและพระกุณฑลทองคำประดับพลอยอะเมทิสและเพอริดอท ซึ่งหม่อมเจ้าไกรสิงห์ วุฒิชัย ทรงออกแบบและสั่งผลิตตามพระราชประสงค์ของในหลวงรัชกาลที่ 9 เพื่อพระราชทานเป็นของขวัญแด่ สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์พระบรมราชินีนาถ พระบรมราชชนนีพันปีหลวง เมื่อประมาณปีพ.ศ. 2514 ถึง 2515

โดยคุณคมสัน โอภาสสถาวร เป็นผู้ควบคุมการผลิต เมื่อครั้งแรกที่ผลิตไม่ประสบความสำเร็จเนื่องจากสร้อยไม่ทิ้งตัวตามแบบที่ท่านชายทรงวาดไว้ คุณคมสันและภรรยาจึงได้ไปกราบไหว้สิ่งศักดิ์สิทธิ์คู่บ้านคู่เมืองอธิษฐานจิตภาวนาขอให้งานสำคัญนี้สำเร็จดั่งที่ตั้งใจไว้ และได้หาวิธีผลิตใหม่ร่วมกับช่างทองจนกระทั่งสามารถผลิตสร้อยพระศอและพระกุณฑลทองคำสำเร็จตามแบบ
