📌 In the ancient Peranakan wedding dress, an essential item is the headdress or artificial flowers on spring wires, which Thais call "Hua Kuan" and Malaysians call "Sanggul Lintang" or "Sanggul Gantang". It is a headdress worn with the Peranakan wedding dress.
In the wedding ceremony of the Peranakan (Baba) or women of Chinese-Malay-Thai descent in the south of Thailand, the bride will do her hair in a "Chak E Boi" style or a high bun and wear this headdress over the bun. This headdress is mostly made of gold thread (din tong) decorated with pearls and artificial flowers on spring wires.
"Din Tong" for Thai people means something used for embroidering ornaments. It is a thread with metal components. The metal part is coated on plastic or thread and then wrapped around with metal. In ancient times, pure gold or silver was used to make thread for decoration, called gold thread (din tong) and silver thread (din ngoen)
Note: Peranakans are a group of Chinese people of Malay descent. This is because in the past, groups of Chinese traders, especially Hokkien Chinese, traveled to trade in the Malay Peninsula.
📌 ในชุดแต่งงานโบราณของชาวเพอรานากันที่ขาดไม่ได้เลยก็คือ #ฮั้วก๋วน หรือมงกุฎดอกไม้ไหว หรือที่ชาวมาเลเซียเรียกว่า “sanggul lintang” หรือ “sanggul gantang” เป็นเครื่องประดับศีรษะสำหรับสวมกับชุดแต่งงาน (ชุดครุยยาว) ในพิธีแต่งงานของชาวเพอรานากัน (บาบ๋า) หรือผู้หญิงเชื้อสายจีน-มลายู-ไทยทางภาคใต้ของไทย โดยเจ้าสาวจะทำผมทรง "ชักอีโบย" หรือเกล้ามวยสูงแล้วสวมฮั้วก๋วนครอบมวยผมอีกที ฮั้วก๋วนส่วนใหญ่ทำจากดิ้นทองประดับเลื่อมมุกและดอกไม้ไหว
#หมายเหตุ:เพอรานากัน (เปอรานากัน) เป็นกลุ่มชาวจีนที่มีเชื้อสายมลายู เนื่องจากในอดีตกลุ่มพ่อค้าชาวจีนโดยเฉพาะกลุ่มชาวจีนฮกเกี้ยนที่เดินทางเข้ามาค้าขายในบริเวณดินแดนคาบสมุทรมลายู
