As a bespoke private jeweller based in Singapore, Chocolate Gems brings you into an exclusive world of distinctive handcrafted, personally sold jewellery. Born out of founder, Archana Patel’s love for all things bold, bling and beautiful, Chocolate Gems’ pieces will appeal to the discerning individual who looks for the unique (and delicious!), rather than the conventional, to express her personal

style. The gemstones we use are handpicked, and every piece of jewellery is individually made by skilled master craftsmen to ensure the finest quality. The ready-to-wear collection, which changes constantly, consists of pieces that are mostly one-of-a-kind. We also enjoy working with you to create jewellery of your choice, either using stones we have sourced for you or your own gemstones, or even through updating and reworking your existing pieces to give them a completely new look and feel. The pieces that form our "fun" collection" are on permanent display at our showroom located at #04-00, 115 Amoy Street. The full collection can be viewed by prior appointment. A little story about magical jackets...

These little zultanites were bought by my client as a memento of her trip to Turkey. They were originally intended as side stones for a larger gemstone in a ring — so, as you can imagine, they were very small.

Too small, really, to have much of a presence as studs. And with no second piercing, my client wasn't quite sure what to do with them.

Sooooo, I suggested earring jackets. And then we had a little fun with them. 😉

We made three completely different pairs — one with mother-of-pearl, one with enamel and one with double gemstone halos (cos I run extra that way!). And all with concealed mouse tails, so gemstone or pearl drops can be added too.

This is the magic of earring jackets: one pair of studs can suddenly become so many different earrings. You don't have to commit to just one look.

And if you're thinking about cost, there's a clever option here too: the studs themselves can be made in a higher grade of gold, while the jackets can be made in a different, more accessible grade of gold, or even sterling silver. So you can have the beautiful investment piece at the centre, without necessarily making every component the same price point.

So yes, I really do mean it when I say there is A LOT you can do with a simple pair of studs. 🥰

Sometimes the stones are right. The setting… not so much. 😉

These tanzanites were bought by my client as a keepsake of her trip to Africa. She loved the stones, but wasn't quite in love with the original setting, so we decided to give them a makeover.

The result? Two detachable earring jackets that can be worn with the studs for completely different looks — and they come with concealed mouse tails, so gemstone or pearl drops can be added too.

People, I kid you not when I say that there really is SO much you can do with earring jackets. They're such an easy, effortless way to dress up a simple pair of studs.

A little more presence. A little more drama. Or just a completely different look when you're in the mood. ✨

And the best part? You don't necessarily need to buy a whole new pair of earrings to get there.

I was in a vintage frame of mind when I designed this one.

Amethyst has long had a place in antique jewellery, particularly during the Victorian and Edwardian eras, while pearls were another much-loved feature of those period pieces. So I thought, why not bring the two together?

Combining the smooth cabochon-cut amethyst with the tiny freshwater pearls makes it a little more unusual. A little old-world romance, but with that Chocolate Gems twist 😉

The best bit? This beauty sits in the Fun section of the RTW collection, so you don't need the excuse of any particular occasion to indulge in a little vintage-inspired sparkle.

Monday is almost done, and what better way to ease into a new week than with a little colour? ✨

Spinel is one of August's two birthstones (my birthstone actually!), and rather conveniently, it comes in a delicious rainbow of colours — not just red but ranging from pink and lilac to blue, grey, orange and even black. Clearly, choosing just one wasn't going to happen, lol!

Some designs never go out of style.

This classic round-and-baguette halo has been around for decades, and I'm not about to argue with perfection. It's become a bit of a Chocolate Gems favourite too, especially when paired with gloriously golden citrine like these.

By pure coincidence, I also have a citrine ring in the showroom featuring the same halo (scroll through to see a vid of the ring). They aren't a matching set..... but they certainly look as though they got the memo 😉

And because versatility is never a bad idea, these studs come with concealed mouse tails as usual, ready for gemstone or pearl drops whenever you fancy changing things up.

I've always had a soft spot for jewellery that doesn't take itself too seriously.

A juicy garnet. A sprinkle of sapphires. A little wink of peridot.

Colourful enough to make a statement, yet easy enough to wear every day.

This one-of-a-kind (and very happy!) ring is currently keeping me company in my Amoy St showroom, if you'd like to pop by to try it on.

If the peridot pair was the cheerful one, this might just be the glamorous sibling.

Part of the trio in my signature design, each pair features a completely different gemstone combination. Of the three, this one is undoubtedly the warmest, pairing the soft glow of freshwater pearls with lively orange sapphires.

Pearls have spent centuries being associated with elegance and refinement. Orange sapphires, on the other hand, tend to have far less interest in behaving quietly 😉 Together, I think they strike a rather lovely balance.

Finished with mouse tails, of course, because jewellery should be allowed to have multiple personalities too.

Another day, another golden temptation...

Citrine was historically thought to carry the warmth and energy of the sun, bringing joy, abundance and a healthy dose of good vibes. Basically the jewellery version of Vitamin D, lol.

The luxe, honeyed glow of the citrine in this ring is truly the pick-me-up we all need on grey days. Framed by a classic halo, the gemstone takes centre stage - making the ring bold enough to make a statement but timeless enough to wear forever. Some might call that the perfect combination. I call it Tuesday 😉

Open-prong rings have existed in jewellery design for centuries, often symbolising openness, duality, or two contrasting elements existing in balance. In this case, I’d say it’s softness meets sunshine.

It’s a delicate and finely-made ring. But the warmth of that marquise-cut yellow sapphire (and for those of you who know me, you’ll also know I find it verrry difficult to resist a marquise cut!) paired with the subtle glow of the tiny freshwater pearl gives the piece far more....I guess the word I'm looking for is *presence*, than its size suggests.

If you’re looking for something that feels light and effortless, but still makes a statement, this ring could very well be IT.

Well. This escalated into a matching set.

After making the earrings, it felt almost unfair not to let this peridot and colour-change garnet combination become a ring too.

The peridot has that fresh green glow that always feels happy to me, while the colour-change garnets very subtly shift tone under different lighting, like tiny gemstones with mood swings.

Part of the “fun” range, but still with all the details I care about: unusual gemstones, thoughtful design, and a piece that feels special without being overly serious.

Now in the showroom, continuing its campaign of quiet temptation.
