Singapore Athletics Instagram: SA currently boasts of a membership comprising of over 50 affiliate institutions.

Since its founding in 1935, the Singapore Athletic Association (SA) has opened its doors to the country’s athletes at the Farrer Park Stadium during the early days of Singapore’s sporting history. Over the years, SA has gone from strength to strength and stands poised to take bold strides in nurturing our sporting talents and work towards a holistic athlete development framework, while making competitive athletics a viable career option. Under the helm of a dynamic team of volunteers and a full-time secretariat, SA aims to continue to build on its rich legacy, and position as the governing body of all things track and field in Singapore. With effect from 1 February 2011, SA is now a charity under the Charities Act as required by the Singapore Sports Council.

🏅 Taking the next step towards becoming an athletics official!

Congratulations to everyone who completed Singapore Athletics’ annual Technical Official Course and written examination!

More opportunities for young people to experience athletics. 🔥

Singapore Athletics’ inaugural West Zone Athletics Meet gave students the chance to compete, represent their schools and discover the sport.

Behind this first edition were teachers who went the extra mile to give their students a platform to race, challenge themselves and experience the joy of competition.

👏 A heartfelt thank you to the teachers-in-charge and participating schools for making this opportunity possible.

Through this pilot, we aim to broaden participation and create more accessible pathways into athletics. We hope this first edition inspires more schools to get involved and give their students the opportunity to experience the sport firsthand.

Thank you to our Guest of Honour, Mr David Neo, Hwa Chong Institution, Sport Singapore and ActiveSG, our participating schools, technical officials, volunteers and organising team for supporting the meet.

And to every student who took part, well done! We hope this is the first of many opportunities to enjoy athletics. 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

🇸🇬 FIVE NATIONAL RECORDS!

Shaun Goh has broken the men's half marathon national record, clocking an official time of 1:05:01 at the Valencia Half Marathon 🇪🇸

Based on his chip time, Shaun actually covered the half-marathon race distance in 1:04:59 - the first time a Singaporean has ever gone under 65 minutes. However, for record-breaking and result-tracking purposes, his gun time of 1:05:01 is used.

The 29-year-old took 1 minute and 44 seconds off the previous national record of 1:06:45, set by Soh Rui Yong at the same race in 2023.

This marks another remarkable achievement in a record-breaking year for Goh, who now holds five national records across road and track distances.

Congratulations, Shaun, on this outstanding achievement! 💪🇸🇬

SA CCE Workshop: 2026/2027 Competition Planning - Recap

Thank you to the coaches who joined us at the Singapore Athletics office for an afternoon of learning and sharing!

Led by Valeri Obidko, Ricardo Diez and Reedus Thurmond, the workshop explored how to turn a competition calendar into a structured training plan, helping athletes prepare for key competitions while supporting their long-term development.

Coaches exchanged ideas, discussed planning challenges and considered how to adapt training to their athletes’ individual needs ahead of the 2026/2027 season.

Thank you to our workshop leads for sharing their knowledge and to everyone who contributed to the discussion. We look forward to more opportunities to learn together and support our athletes! 🇸🇬
