Our latest book project, The Machinist, is out now! The Hup Yick workshop will be open this weekend, so head over to buy the book or take a tour.

MENTION the Jalan Besar area and most people think spas, cafes and boutique hotels. But the area used to house numerous ship and auto repair workshops back in the 1940s. Read more at The Business Times.

New work! Elly is a children's clothing label and store. Started in Singapore five years ago, many mums now swear by their pieces that put the "fun" in functional.

Working closely with founders Audrey and Carol, we arrived at a solution that adds a touch of sophistication, without losing the playfulness of the brand.

The Machinist is a book that tells the stories of the last industrial craftsmen in Jalan Besar. The project centres around Mr Yee Chin Hoon of Hup Yick Engineering Works, a metal lathe craftsman who has since collaborated with designers Wendy Chua, Yuki Mitsuyasu and Xin Xiaochang to create jewellery from obsolete auto parts.

The Machinist will be at the Singapore Art Book Fair from 28–30 April at Gillman Barracks. Do drop by Booth 10A to see a sample of the book (available for pre-order), jewellery pieces and chess sets machined by Hup Yick.

We had the privilege of working on the book and poster design for The Machinist.

New work: Fluid, a book commemorating 30 years of glass art and glass working by Synergraphic Design.

Synergraphic is also running an exhibition of some of their work (including art pieces by the company's founder, Florence Ng) at The Pavilion at Far East Square until Friday.
