"E" serial number 0007 (special edition "CityJunglers" dial), delivered 3 December 2016, in for check-up after 9 years of permanent use.

The entire watch is still in excellent condition, service only by cleaning and lubricating seals and a small tweak of the balance spring tension, as a result of slightly higher viscosity oils after 9 years of use.

With a frequency of 28 800 "ticks" per hour, the watch has performed near 2,3 Billion (yes, with a "B") ticks.

As evident in the picture, no problem fine tuning to 0 +/-1 second deviation per 24 hours with a max deviation of 1/2000 of a second between ticks. Yes slightly more irregular than when delivered, but near immaculate form.

A. Scratching of the case edges as a result of a long time of usage. This Omega watch, that runs perfectly, was commissioned in 1992 (33 years ago). The wear and tear gives the watch great personality and is a testiment to the durability of quality watches. Regular cleaning/service and change of O-rings are necessary to maintain water resistance.

B. Sadly, during a previous service, someone has marred the screws that hold the movement holder. This is never acceptable for a high quality watchmaker and is proof it is worth investing the extra cost in contracting a qualified professional.

On the final stretch of servicing and cleaning an Omega 1430 (Swiss made six jewel quartz movement), including manufacture of a one-off silicone O-ring and sealer for the front glass.

The light blue cone shaped item in the image is a piece of Bergeon cleaning putty, a sticky clay like substance with rubber feel, used to pick up minute pieces of dust and dirt particles.
