The Joy Within was born from a simple belief: joy isn't something we wait for — it's something we already hold. We spend so much time looking outward, but joy lives inside us, quiet and patient, waiting to be noticed.

What first drew me to these stones was their color — the way natural rubies shift between soft pink and deep red, no two quite the same. Cut as round cabochons, smooth and gently domed, they catch the light with a playful, cheerful glow that feels almost alive. There's something inherently joyful about their shape — round, soft, unguarded — like little sparks of happiness rather than sharp, formal gems.

The rubies set into this ring are more than stones. They are a symbol — small, glowing reserves of joy, embedded in silver the way real joy is embedded in us: not always visible, but always present. Each ruby catches the light differently, just as joy shows up differently in each of us — in a quiet morning, a shared laugh, a moment of stillness.

The story of this piece began with a single earring, which I chose to repurpose and place at the absolute heart of the design, transforming it into the pistil of a flower. Around this core, I hand-sculpted organic, irregular petals in sterling silver, mimicking the raw, unpolished beauty of nature where perfection is found in asymmetry.
Paired with a bold, contemporary ball chain, the result is a truly exceptional statement piece.
