Based in Portugal, Clay Mood Studio, V.N. Every shape, every color and every little detail is hand-made, self-designed and created with an intense effort, inspiration and love. In my work I use natural oxydes and experiment with the most unexpected materials,

least used in a traditional jewelry. Coffee powder, hair, egg shells and other everyday life´s elements can create absolutely mind-blowing effects while mixed with oxydes. The chemical reactions produced during the firing in the kiln are always unique which means that you will never meet someone wearing the same piece of jewellery.

Nerikomi is a technique from Japan that kept me awake at night after I discovered it. A mess that becomes visually impressive and the natural patterns emerging from random folding of coloured clay. For me it’s a reminder of how beauty is born from letting go of control, as the patterns of Nerikomi are impossible to repeat twice.

I want to share this magic with you next Wednesday, 15 July, from 18:30–20:30 at Duas Luas Studio.

During the workshop you’ll create your own Nerikomi pieces — plates, mugs or a coffee cup — and I’ll guide you through every step, even if you’ve never worked with clay before.

Come to our cozy studio to slow down, get your hands into clay, and let your mind rest.

This Wednesday evening we will gather around the table to make ceramics while sharing homemade fermented kombucha by — organic, fair trade, and made with ingredients sourced directly from local producers.

This is a freestyle ceramics session where there are no templates to follow and a very few rules. We explore texture, play and curiosity using natural materials like rice, beans, leaves, pigments and found objects to create unique surfaces and patterns.

No experience is needed. Beginners are always welcome.

More than a class, it’s an invitation to pause. To spend an evening away from notifications and endless scrolling. To feel clay in your hands, sip something refreshing, share a table with new people, and remember what it feels like to simply let go and create.
