As jóias, para Liliana, mais do que um adorno são entendidas como objectos de culto, companhia, talismã que transportamos, e com o qual podemos brincar, distrair e descomprimir. Alcançam naturalmente este "estado" pelo próprio processo de gestação, durante semanas transporta consigo as formas que persegue e progressivamente adapta-as ao seu próprio corpo até que inevitavelmente lhe pertencem. do que fruto de um desenho a priori, as suas formas decorrem dos próprios processos manuais de fabrico, especialmente no trabalho que desenvolve em torno da filigrana com mestres ourives Joaquim e Guilherme Rodrigues. A oficina secular onde trabalham em equipa, carregada de experiências, utensílios, ferramentas construídas pelos próprios, constitui para Liliana não só o espaço de aprendizagem das técnicas de filigrana, como também espaço de descoberta e encontro com todos os objectos a elas associados. Para além do culto dos objectos, é na leitura, identificação dos elementos essenciais da filigrana e na compreensão das suas diversas técnicas de trabalho que reside a singularidade e delicadeza das suas jóias. O percurso da Liliana na joalharia reflecte naturalmente a procura pessoal dos seus lugares. Os seus temas de projecto partem da observação destes lugares, das formas, das cores, das texturas, dos materiais, e do fascínio pelos processos de fabrico artesanais.

For Liliana, jewels are more than an adornment. They’re objects of worship that keep us company, a talisman that we carry, and with which we can play, entertain and unwind. They naturally reach this "status" after the process of gestation when week after week she carries along with her the shapes she pursues and progressively adapts them to her own body until inevitably she owns them. More than the result of a design established at first, the forms of her pieces of work stem from manual processes of manufacturing, especially in the work that she develops around the filigree with master goldsmiths Joaquim and Guilherme Rodrigues. The secular workshop where they work as a team, full of experiences, utensils, tools built by themselves, is not only the space of learning the techniques of filigree for Liliana, as well as the space of discovery and meeting with all the objects associated with these techniques. Beyond the worship of objects, it’s in the reading and identification of the essential elements of filigree and also in the understanding of its various working techniques that lies the uniqueness and delicacy of her jewellery. Liliana’s path in jewellery naturally reflects the personal search of her places. Her project themes depart from the observation of these places, shapes, colours, textures, materials, and the allure of the handmade manufacturing processes.
